Rev. E. Anderson

It is possible for you to hear from God. The reason why Christ brought you into the heavenly Family and introduced you to His Father is that He will be your Father now. Just as He experienced and enjoyed the voice of the Father in His life and work on earth, the same is now open to you. The best thing for you now is to fully enter into the Fatherhood of God, knowing He deeply cares and has the word of guidance to impart on your pilgrim pathway. Whilst reading of the experience of other believers in this and being encouraged. Know He waits to come on a regular basis to talk and communicate things that you need to know. It is not for a select few but is available you as well. It is a matter of finding time to be with Him so that He may speak those truths and things that will heighten your oneness with Him. Do not let today slip by without spending time with HIM.

“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” – Matthew 12:34.

Your words are windows to your heart. This being so, make sure that in every word spoken, true light, understanding and knowledge is given so that others are positively lit up and blessed by you. The mouth does not have to be a problem, it can be a blessing and inspiration.

“Be strong in the LORD and in power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” – Ephesians 6: 10,11. One of the reasons that you need to be adorned and inspired by the strength of the LORD is that you can effectively deal with your spiritual opposition, the devil and his cohorts. You are not only fortified with divine energy but with the wisdom to utilize that energy against the forces that would undo you. In no way can they have the advantage over you to bring you into bondage and misery but they can be sent packing with their tail between their legs. Ever remember greater is He that is in you that he that is in the world. The power is yours is expel Him and destroy His works and bring the kingdom on heaven into manifestation with its authority.

Having predicted with divine certainty the destruction of the Holy City and the awful humiliation of its inhabitants, one would think that the prophet would have been quite smug in his spirit and attitude. After all, he had taken a lot of abuse and affliction from them because he had dared to rebuke them for their sins and spoken of the inevitable consequences. He could have had an air of superiority, pointing the accusative finger at them saying: “I told you so but you would not listen.” He could have been most hard and vindictive at this hour.

Not so. He was profoundly upset by what he beheld. There was an indescribable sorrow sensed within his being. How grieved and disturbed he felt as he looked at the whole scene! All his inward emotions were agitated and he cried out with tears streaming down his cheeks: “Is it nothing to you that pass by? Behold, see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow . .” Jeremiah gazed on the devastation all around him with brokenness of spirit. It would seem that nothing and no one could assuage his grief as he lamented over the plight of both the city and people.

In viewing a scene outside the city wall centuries later, there is the revelation of the suffering Christ on the Cross. He was the man who was terribly humiliated and mutilated by men in His day and extended on a Roman gibbet to end His life on earth. Prior to the Cross He had already been through a process of untold affliction but them He is nailed to the Cross and made a spectacle for all to gaze on and abuse. There is a call for all to look by faith to this sight and vision. His sufferings and death was for a purpose: to bring salvation for all men. His death was in order that men may be saved from their sins. Make sure you look to Him and be saved.
