Make certain that you are at your spiritual best for the Lord today and this week-end so that you can contribute positively to Him and His kingdom. It is not a case of you doing your own thing but that which is acceptable to your Lord and Master and will yield utmost profit and blessings. Deal with those things that would sidetrack and subvert your spiritual life, faith and action, making sure that you are a premium for Him. By so doing you will encourage the Christian leadership, bring added inspiration and blessing to many others and so record a testimony that will be most God-glorifying. The time and opportunity may never present itself again so seize th same for lasting good. Remember, “Seek first the kingdom of heaven and all things will be added unto you” – Matthew 6:33.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me” – Philippians 4: 13

Do not live off your own weaknesses but His divine strength because He is all and Ever Sufficient for you and all your situations.

For those who are now the sons of God in and through Christ, it has to be known and experienced that there are choice blessings to be theirs now in Him. Paul make it clear: “He that spared not His own Son but delivered Him up for us all (that is to the Cross), how shall he not with Him also freely give us all things” – Romans 8:32. The resurrected Christ is alive and in the business of blessing all of the sons of God in remarkable way. One of the ways He does so is by making known what God has assuredly promised and desires to do for each member of the divine household, and that means you. It is important to claim your inheritance.

The promises made to Abraham are to be considered yours: He said to him at the outset. “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you . . .” – Genesis 12:2. That is the reason He has brought you into His. You must know from the outset that God the Father wills to do you good in every way. The ancient Abraham was raised up to be an example and inspiration to all who should come to know God in a personal manner. Whatever He did for this great patriarch, He still is able to make and keep promise with all who know and live of Christ. All through your pilgrim journey He is present to bless. Yes, even now, today.

A forecast was given most early of what was going to occur in the history of God’s people. The Lord reveals that He is able to predict with certainty, long before things take place, as to what is going to happen in the affairs of men. This message came in the time of Jehoiakim, king of Judah – v1. The word was that the land of Judah would be desolated and that the people would be taken to Babylon and made to serve them for 70 years – vv11, 12. The Lord allowed Babylon to rise as a nation and to become a tool in His hand to mete out judgment. And it came to pass as was prophesied.

The complete prophecy was that Babylon itself would be judged and made to pay a price because of her maltreatment of God’s people. She will be made to face the music because of the atrocities committed. Daniel, one of the people who had been exiled, was aware of this prophecy of deliverance for his people and prayed in accord with it – Daniel 9: 2. He regarded God’s Word as being sure on this and so it was accomplished. When the years had elapsed and the time and scene was ready, God brought His people back home for a fresh start.

God’s people are to know the inspired, prophetic word in their affairs and be attuned to the fact that God does speak with certainty into the direction of future events. Through His Word, Spirit and servants He makes known what is to be so that life can be channelled according to His will and programme. It is necessary for all God’s children to be acutely aware of what He is planning and arranging. As you humbly seek His face in communion and diligently read, study and obey His Word, you will not be in ignorance as to where He is leading and taking you.
