You have been enriched in and by Christ in order that you may bless and enrich others. You are to become a crystal stream full of fresh, heavenly water that people will come and drink and be satisfied and blessed and realize that what you are and possess is divine quality. The more you live in and off Him, the greater the flow and many will be attracted and impacted by what they taste of your life, service and ministry. It will be your joy and pleasure to observe the difference this will make to them, in point of fact, they will also become rivers of blessing taking their cue from you. Instead of being obsessed with the negative force of sin you will be a positive individual consumed by God’s gravce, love and goodness.

“There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor yet hath great riches” – Proverbs 13:7

A man is rich according to what he is, not what according he has.

The Lord enriches you to enrich others and as you fulfil this you become possessed with the true, eternal riches. As you give away, more returns and you have abundance to bless in a greater manner and measure.

Whilst there are positive spiritual factors to be introduced into one new nature received from Christ, there are things that belong to the old sinful and carnal nature that have to be put off, removed from one’s being and behaviour. Paul said to the saints at Ephesus “That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts – Eph 4:22. It should become obvious that Christ has renewed you and that the Holy Spirit is in charge and that you are conforming to the standards that God’s Word reveal. It is essential to identify them and see that they have no place in our faith and conduct.

“Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient, but rather giving of thanks” – Ephesians 5: 4. What you think and say reveal to a great extent what kind of person you are. Whilst humour is good in its place, it must not become a life-style and where it sinks into the base and corrupt. The mouth must be sanctified and give forth words that build and bless the faith of others and are a real testimony to your Lord. You have much in Him to pass on to others without having to sink the level of evil speech. Even though you exist in a carnal world that ever propagates such, it shall not dwell in or motivate you at any time.

It seems that there were an abundance of false messengers in Jeremiah’s day that serve up a load of vain prophecies thus deceiving the people. All they did was to speak out of their own minds and hearts and utter messages that were totally untrue. They communicated assurances that all would be well in the name of the Lord but they would prove to be utterly vain. Instead of being at peace, there would come war and conflict and ultimate exile. All that they were bothered about was in making a lucrative gain out of their worthless addresses.

The Lord was angry with these so-called divine messengers and pronounced judgment upon them. They and their words would be shown up for what they were but the people needed to wake up to the reality of these kind of people in their midst. It was time they sorted themselves out and delivered themselves from listening and taking note of them. If they hearkened to them then they were as guilty as them. Knowing that the Lord had not sent or given His word to them should mean they should be rejected from having input into their situation.

Paul and Peter acquaint us that there were false prophets and teachers in their day seeking to make their presence and teachings known in the churches. It was necessary that every believer knew who these people were and not to allow themselves to be perverted by their speeches. It is absolutely important that you be careful that you do not become gullible to these kinds of people and their doctrines. Ever be watchful in these matters and the Holy Spirit and good Christian teachers will help you to know the truth.
