Belonging to the Lord means that all that belongs to Him belongs to you. You are an heir of Christ and inherit all that is in Him and so it it time to claim and live in your inheritance. He certainly is rich in all the choice benefits and loves to share with those who know how to relate to Him in faith and life. You have not be called to be a pauper in spiritual realties but exceedingly rich so that you can enhance the life of your family and friends , and others, too. Christ is your greatest asset for time and eternity and it is time for you to draw upon and live off His grace and goodness.

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not” – Galatians 6:9

Persistence in that which is good in terms of sowing is sure to produce a bumper harvest, so go for it and stay with it and reap the results.

Whilst there are positive spiritual factors to be introduced into one new nature received from Christ, there are things that belong to the old sinful and carnal nature that have to be put off, removed from one’s being and behaviour. Paul said to the saints at Ephesus “That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts – Eph 4:22. It should become obvious that Christ has renewed you and that the Holy Spirit is in charge and that you are conforming to the standards that God’s Word reveal. It is essential to identify them and see that they have no place in our faith and conduct.

One of the main reasons why Judah failed was due to its weak leadership. The kings that took the throne failed to give the spiritual and moral direction that the people needed. The last four monarchs left much to be desired and were a letdown to God’s people. They should have been like shepherds caring for the wholesome welfare of the people under their charge and control but they failed to give a loving and righteous lead to them. They failed God and the nation and much was lost of real benefit. Things could have been so different had they governed aright for God.

Thankfully it wasn’t to remain forever in this awful state. The man of God was able to predict a time when all would be changed and that godly, caring leaders would assume the control – vv4-6, headed by a unique King who would give overall righteous leadership. He would be of a similar standing and nature of David but infinitely superior. It is a distinct reference to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, the One who would be the Good, Chief and Great Shepherd of all. He would raise up a leadership under Him that would fully care for His people.

Viewing Christendom and the world today, it has to be said, there is a demand for quality leaders that bear the spirit and capabilities of Christ to both care and command. In seeing people exposed to the many evils of this hour, and noting the awful inroads and impact such has made upon them, it is essential that there be birthed spiritual leaders that can deliver them out of this condition. All Christians should be praying for the arrival and ministry of these people that can make such a difference. Pray for those over you that they may rightly discharge their duty.
