Like the daily newspaper in print with all the up-to-date news, this is what you are like. As people meet with you on a regular basis they see and hear the message you are carrying and silently apprehend. By your words and deeds and attitudes you utter volumes and those within your circle are either switched on or off. It is your duty to make sure that you are a bearer of the Good News of Christ so they are not left in any doubt as to Him .Your faith and life are the mighty messengers. Do not downgrade or despise yourself of this daily opportunity to cause them to awake to what Christ is saying through you.

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things” – Philippians 4:8.

There are an extraordinary lot of good things for the mind to meditate in that will profit your life extraordinarily and make you different.

Peter in his message to early Christians reveals that they have been blessed: “According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” You are called to be like Christ and manifest  His quality characteristics in an ever-increasing capacity. These are the things to added with all diligence – vv4, 5, 6.

8/.The Quality of Charity – The Amp.Version has it ‘develop Christian love”. The great driving force and developing factor that makes a person the best and like God is ‘agape love’. When it present and evident it is really does reveal that God has moved in with His grace and power and has taken over. The true hallmark that a n individual is born again of God is the fact that His nature is in full bloom. It cannot be hid. Everybody is affected as it is manifested to them by a Christian. There is hardly a need for a sermon or even a word of testimony because life and deeds resonate with the life of God. It is apparent that the influence of Dorcas was in what she was and did rather than what she said. Charity just oozed from her! She abounded in being like Jesus and switched a great community on!

The people to whom the prophet was called to speak were charged with being committed to a profitless procedure. They were doing things that were vain and they would turn out to their own disadvantage and ruin. The Lord had signally blessed them as a nation and had given them a land full of good things but they had forsaken and disowned Him. It was a foolish and regrettable act on their part that could only lead to their undoing. Here He is seeking to show clearly the stupidity of their ways in leaving Him out of the proceedings.

There is a distinctive highlighting of the issue when the point is made in v13. He says: “For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.” It could not be put much plainer. The greater source of blessing had been turned from and rejected for the lesser that could never satisfy and achieve fulfilment. He had proved and was still up to it to meet all the current demands of their life and future Himself and bring about the complete and perfect pleasure and contentment of existence.

How necessary it is that Christian believers keep a watchful eye on their pursuits and to make certain that the Lord is at the centre of them! There should be no need of a reminder that He is wholly committed to the well-being and delight of all who have placed their trust in Him. In no way should there be any wavering in making sure that He is first and foremost in thought, faith and action each day and that He is the source of happiness. Make it obvious to Him, above all, that He is your focus and centre and those living waters will be yours to enjoy.
