Rev. E. Anderson

You have not only been born into God’s Chosen Family, you have become the recipient of the Holy Spirit, the third member of the Godhead. He is present with you to play a constant role in development in your faith and life so that you become the son God wills you be, able to serve Him in time and eternity. Learn to look to and rely on Him for His divine input because He will create, cultivate and achieve good things in and through you. He acts as your best Counsellor, Interpreter, Strengthener etc., so that you lack nothing to become all the heavenly Father purposed for you. He, who was with the Christ and aided in the success of His life and mission, is in and alongside you to accomplish the same.. Your Father does not nurture failures.

“That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” – Hebrews 6: 12

Too many churchgoers are singing ‘Standing on hte Promises’ when all they are doing is sitting on the premises.

Peter in his message to early Christians reveals that they have been blessed: “According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” You are called to be like Christ and manifest  His quality characteristics in an ever-increasing capacity. These are the things to added with all diligence – vv4, 5, 6.

7/. The Quality of Brotherly Kindness – v7. Each Christian believer should know that they have been birthed into God’s household and that everyone now becomes their brother. As such, there is a spiritual love and service to be constantly rendered to the same. He has already stated in 1 Peter 2: 17 “Love the brotherhood.” It is not an option but a personal responsibility to do all we can for all within the Christian community. It is not a case of choosing our friends. That is what the world does. The LORD has given people within the framework to love and share life with. Of course, He is the example. He has set the tone, spirit and standard  for all to copy. The world outside will be impacted when it sees the Christian Church behaving this way. See how you can best bless and serve your brothers, today

STRONG TO PERFORM – Jeremiah 1: 11-19

At the outset the Lord is setting him up for a major, demanding exercise that will require an amazing amount of courage and strength. It was the kind of task that was not for the fainthearted but for a person that was of resolute mind and spirit. The Lord could foresee all that was to come the way of His servant-messenger and knew it would demand exceptional stamina, will and nerve. He was acquainting him at his call that the road ahead would not be an easy one and that there would be powerful oppositions that would attack on every hand.

In spite of such, divine assurance was given, too, of what the Lord was to achieve in and through him. He would make him “a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls against the whole land” v18.  He would be of stronger and sterner stuff and not wilt or fall under pressure. He would come through the ordeal still standing whilst all were defeated before him. The promise from the Lord would come to pass: “for I will deliver you” –v19.  There was no need for him to be worried in all the conflicts for the assurance was his that he would come out triumphant.

Christian life and experience is not forecasted as being trouble-free and undemanding. There are occasions when every Christian will be called upon to prove their spiritual fibre and capability. The Lord strengthens His saints so that they are not chocolate soldiers that melt when the heat is turned up but are pure gold when in the furnace of trial. No matter what you are called upon to confront by way of obstacles and opposition, the Lord will give deliverance and make you into a divine conqueror. Your testimony will be of victory through Him.
