Remember the affirmation of Christ with regard to giving, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men given into your bosom . . . .” – Luke 6:38. And Paul says: “Sow bountifully and you shall reap bountifully”,, thus underlining this factor. You cannot afford not to learn the art and act of giving. Your inward motivation should be to really bless others as much as possible and the divine law of returns is, it will bounce back in a choice manner. As you learn to overflow in this grace there will be an overflow returning which will be difficult to hold. The Lord bless and make you a giver and receiver!!

“But let your statement be ‘yes, yes’ or ‘no, no’ – Matthew 5:37 a (NASB).

By keeping things simple and truthful you will save yourself a lot of heartache and others will really believe you and in you.

Peter in his message to early Christians reveals that they have been blessed: “According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” You are called to be like Christ and manifest  His quality characteristics in an ever-increasing capacity. These are the things to added with all diligence – vv4, 5, 6.

The Quality of Godliness – v6. The simple and sure interpretation is being and becoming like your heavenly Father in nature and behaviour. You are to live under the influence of His presence and manifest the same quality attitudes as He. When God originally made man it was in His likeness. Unfortunately sin robbed man of this distinct feature. It is through Christ, the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, it is possible for all the features of God to be birthed and developed to perfection in you. You are in His Family to truly become like Him. Nothing gives God more pleasure than seeing godliness reproduced in you. Keep this in mind and heart today and let it shape and form you like Him and there will be no regrets.

SET APART FOR GOD – Jeremiah 1: 1-10

God was in need of someone who would become a vital messenger to His people at such a critical time. Things were falling apart on the political, spiritual and natural front and there was a call for a person who could truthfully convey God’s mind and purposes. It would require a quality person who would not be lacking in compassion, courage and commitment. How delighted God was that He had such an individual that would be prepared to serve Him and His people over a long period of time and remain faithful to the end

The moment came when the Lord could and did encounter this man with His word and challenge him to this demanding role. He conveyed to him that “before he had been formed in the womb   . . . he had been set apart and ordained as a prophet to the nations” –v5.  It would make this man conscious of his divine destiny and give him an awesome sense of spiritual responsibility, which could not be shelved. The summons was to be separated to God to fulfil a holy vocation in difficult days. There was no escape from the Lord or from the high calling on his life.

In Christ’s work of spiritual grace within the Christian believer’s heart, there should come the knowledge that there is now a sacred separation to Him so that He might achieve the pleasure of His noble purpose for life. No longer is the person their own lord but is now in loving servitude to the Lord for the accomplishment of His desire and design. It becomes more awesome when it is realized that this has been destined before human birth! You are to know and be aware of the fact that He has been shaping you for both life and work prior to your appearance!
