To get the best from all that you are and do, it is imperative that you learn to be consistent, and a consistency that is directed to the right people, principles and procedures. It is a reliability and regularity in matters that yield the greatest good and advantages all. Learn to be on time at all times so that all know that you will be there unless unforeseen circumstances of a serious nature interfere. Let you word be yea and nay so that people are ever certain of what you say and mean you carry through. The consequences of having this quality will ensure that people will highly regard you and treat you as Mr. or Mrs. Reliable. And that is worth knowing!

In his book Stress factors Charles Swindoll writes: I vividly remember some time back being caught in the undertow of too many commitments in too few days. It was long before I was snapping at my wife and our children, choking down my food st mealtimes, and feeling irritated at those unexpected interruptions through the day. Before long, things around our home started reflecting the pattern of my hurry-up-style. It was becoming unbearable.

I distinctly recall after supper one evening the words of our younger daughter, Colleen. She wanted to tell me about something important that had happened to her at school that day. She hurriedly began, “Daddy–I–wanna-tell-you-something’ – and-I’ll-tell-you- really-fast.”

Suddenly realizing her frustration, I answered, “Honey, you can tell me . . .  and you don’t have to tell me really fast. I’ll never forget her answer: then listen slowly.”

“Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her for she is thy life” – Proverbs 4:13. The wise know how important good instructions are and seek to know and implement nt them. The Bible is the Wisest Book of all and the wise take notice of it in every way, every day.

In the knowledge that a Christian has the new law of Christ operating within there is to be a conduct that is complementary and commendatory. It is not a freedom to act according to one’s own desires but to act in line with the life and behaviour of Christ. There is to be no spirit of rebellion only an attitude of willing and loving subservience to all that is of a godly nature. It seeks to express itself in good will and to be a true and noble citizen of the realm. A spiritual and scriptural awareness exists that promotes that which enhances love, peace and accord in society at large. It should be committed to making life here and now of benefit to all.

The Christian is to accept and recognize that the governments of earth are part of the government of God in human affairs. This does not mean they agree to all that the ruling authority decrees and demands. There is a right of lawful and peaceful protest when things conflict with truth, morality and the requirements of God. In no way must there be outward, hostile anarchy that is a negation of the very nature and spirit of Jesus Christ. The world of people needs to take notice of Christianity being perfectly expressed in a scenario of this character.

The Christian Church does need to be positive salt and light in society, revealing the worthy faith, principles and procedures of the kingdom of heaven. A vibrant and healthy contribution should be made into the local communities from the local churches into its government at that level. Every Christian is not only to be law abiding but to influence the situation where they are placed and live. What sort of contribution are you making within your locality? There is a purpose for you to serve in this so that the Christian Gospel will gain a wider audience and attention.
