 Rev. E. Anderson

Do not rely on yourself and your own abilities but learn to trust God to advance and enhance those things to you that will release you totally to be the person He wills you to be; to perform in a manner that is extraordinary through His influence and input. Through the gracious and constant communicating of His humility, grace and power, you will learn to live in a dimension beyond the natural. He is with you at all times so that you can be at your best and do things in a way that will produce the greatest good. Such will safeguard you and bring true honour to Him This is how it should be.

This directive must be pondered upon and truly taken notice of, The Christian has to face up to the fact that Christ’s expectancy of such is a Spirit-Filled Life and Service. Not only does He require a person to be born again by the work of the Spirit but they moved into being blessed and possessed by the Holy Spirit. The early apostles and Christians were exhorted by Christ to “Tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high” – Luke 24: 49. This they did and experienced this unique blessing – see Acts 2. It had to be a paramount force and feature henceforward. Each Christian need to pay attention to this! Quench not the Spirit 1/. By Slighting His Person and Influence – treat Him always as the third member of the Godhead.2/. by Failing to be Daily Filled with Him . He is who you need on a regular basis. 3/. By not Listening to what he has to say and wills to do. Some folks get to the place where they resist the Spirit. 4/. By being Loaded with a Lot of Stuff that He does not Relate to.

HUMOUR – Driver- Driving

‘Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead.’

‘When a man opens a car door for his wife, it’s either a new car or a new wife.’

My kids drive me crazy. I drive them everywhere else.’

‘Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

‘All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty’ – Proverbs 14:23

There are occasions when it seems that God has put out of His mind and memory issues that appear to be of utmost importance. In the running of the universe it may seem to be that God forgets and no longer has any further personal interest in people and situations. This is not so and cannot be so. He has purposes to fulfil and in His wisdom and workings places things in a state of abeyance for a while and then picks them up when the time is right and opportune for further action. Whilst this condition exists all is present in His thoughts awaiting developments.

The apostle argues this factor with regard to the future of Israel. At present, she has been laid aside because of the great purpose that is being fulfilled with the birth of the Church Of Jesus Christ. A whole world of Gentiles can hear and respond to the Good News of the Gospel and find Christ and be born into God’s household of faith. The moment will come when Israel will be taken up again as a people and it will be obvious that they have not been forgotten but are very much in the thoughts and determinations of the Almighty. She has glorious prospects!

Of course, in Christian life and experience there are occasions when it looks as if the Lord has forgotten and laid an individual aside. Things have come to a halt and there doesn’t seem to be any interest or movement of God in affairs. It is easy to become disheartened and discouraged when this is the case. If you are in this condition, it may well be that there has to be some further spiritual developments to be attained so that much more will be known of God and His destiny for your life. It is not a matter of being forgotten but discovering Him in a greater way.
