Rev. E. Anderson

Maybe you have a problem with the word, idea and experience of discipline. It seems to suggest to you something that is hard and difficult and to accept and apply and so to be turned away from because of its workings and presentation. But really, you are not going to be anything or make much of your life unless there is the application of Christian discipline. Christ comes to live inside you in order to apply things, if attended to, will make for your great profit and promotion. They are like rungs in a ladder that have to be ascended in order to scale the heights. No athlete, student or other person aspiring in some other field of enterprise makes it without diligent application to principles and genuine directives that produce graduation and usefulness of a great order and character. People who accept and knuckle down to the principles of Christian kingdom life are sure to rise to a creditable position and ministry. Make sure you are one of them!

This was a regular in former years in Gospel Meetings. It was a sung testimony to the wonder-working power of Christ when He comes into the heart to take charge. He not only comes Himself but brings all the additional blessings and advantages to enrich life in everyway. Those who really let him in to take over have no regrets only superlative delight and drive in and to life. Every day living becomes different!

What a wonderful Change in my Life has been Wrought

Rufus H. McDaniel was ordained in the Christian church in 1873. He found much joy in church music. He began writing hymns in the 1880’s. He wrote, “I feel in my soul that God has something for me to do in brightening the experience of struggling souls. My chief desire is to be a blessing, if possible, to my fellow-men through these hymns and thereby glorify God in the name of his dear son ‘whose I am and whom I serve.’

It was the instrument used by the Holy Spirit in the conversion of Policeman Fowler during the Billy Sunday Philadelphia meeting. What the apostolic preaching of the great evangelist failed to do, this song of personal testimony did—brought about Fowler’s conversion. More than a hundred policemen were led to Christ by the change wrought in the life of one man by this song.

What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought Since Jesus came into my heart!
I have light in my soul for which long I had sought, Since Jesus came into my heart!

Since Jesus came into my heart, Since Jesus came into my heart,
Floods of joy o’er my soul Like the sea billows roll, Since Jesus came into my heart.

I have ceased from my wandering and going astray, Since Jesus came into my heart!
And my sins, which were many, are all washed away, Since Jesus came into my heart! – Refrain

I’m possessed of a hope that is steadfast and sure, Since Jesus came into my heart!
And no dark clouds of doubt now my pathway obscure, Since Jesus came into my heart! – Refrain.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend – Melody Beattie

USE YOUR GIFTS – Matthew 25: 14-46

Christ’s tells a very interesting story that is connected to His return. He mentions a wealthy man giving his servants monetary amounts to be used by them during his absence so as to exploit their ability. They differed in amounts but each was called to invest and work with in such order to make more and to evidence their skill. A talent was worth a tremendous amount of money in those days, so the master was entrusting them with gift and opportunity.

Two out of the three worked with what was given and saw some positive results. They doubled up their amount and so used their natural talents besides the monetary gifts. One buried the one that was given and failed to make use of his ability and money. They were called to account as to what they had done whilst He was away with the time and talents. Two were graciously rewarded whilst the other was reproved and removed as an unprofitable servant. What the master was concerned about was not so much about how much was made but in the use of the gifts.

You do well to consider what the Lord has dispensed to you in terms of talents and to see that they are properly and constantly used to the full. He desires that you develop your skills and abilities to their full potential so that you will advance both your character and performance rate and usefulness. In no way does He want you to sit around but to be industrious with your life in every way. When He returns He will call to account and have a resume on how you have worked. May you give Him satisfaction and the joy of appointing you to a noble sphere in His eternal Kingdom.
