Learn all the important lessons from the past. There are occasions when you ought to reflect on what has occurred in your spiritual journey and note the things that God has sought to impress and instruct you with and move on. The past is like a platform from which God wants to launch you into bigger things and accomplish so much more both in and through you. You are well on the way so move into the future with God. It is one of the major things the LORD is on with in relation to your present situation in His Church and world. For 40 years He sought to teach Israel this but they were slow grasp this factor. The quicker lessons are learned the quicker the progress and graduation. Always know this: the LORD always has the best in mind for you!

Jesus shall Lead me Night and Day

This is a song dearly loved by many saints. It is an expression of faith in the perfect and loving guidance of the Lord. Within His guidance is His providence. He who could lead Israel through the wilderness, and direct the paths of His servants of old, is still up the task of leading His people to the Promised land.

There are moments in your life where you stop and look back at the path you’ve travelled and you just marvel as you see how God guided you down the path.  We can’t always see it when we are in the midst of it…that’s where trust comes in.  But when it becomes clear, there is no doubt God has been revealing to you His path for your life every step of the way.

This lovely hymn was done by William Clark Martin who lived between 1864 and 1914. It is a hymn centred on the events of Calvary in Luke 23:33. When they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified Him.

The hymn writer Martin was pastor of the Grace Baptist Church (formerly Cramer’s Hill), Camden, New Jersey from 1891 to 1894 and Noank Baptist Church, Noank, Connecticut from 1894 to 1900; Grace Baptist Church, Somerville, Massachusetts (near Boston; at the time of his arrival there it was noted he was from Bluffton, Indiana); and the First Baptist Church in Fort Myers, Florida, from 1912 until his death. He died in 1914 and not much is said of him more than this.

Where He may lead me I will go, For I have learned to trust Him so,
And I remember it was for me, That He was slain on Calvary – Refrain

Jesus shall lead me night and day, Jesus shall lead me all the way,
He is the truest Friend to me, For I remember Calvary.

O I delight in His command, Love to be led by His dear hand;
His divine will is sweet to me, Hallowed by bloodstained Calvary.  Refrain

Onward I go, nor doubt nor fear, Happy with Christ my Saviour near,
Trusting that I some day shall see, Jesus my Friend of Calvary – Refrain

Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe – Gail Devers

BEING PREPARED – Matthew 22: 1-14

Christ told this parable for a number of reasons but the ultimate lesson pressed home was the important one of being fully dressed and totally prepared. It was not enough to be invited to the special occasion of a wedding and it’s feasting, but to  be properly attired for the occasion. It was to be an event where all were to be appropriately dressed so as to make the whole proceedings magnificent. Each and everyone must be so adorned that they were not an embarrassment to the host that had invited them.

The king not only gave the invitation, he provided the necessary clothing for the royal event so there was no excuse for the person concerned to have acted in such a manner. He deserved to be thrown out of the exceptional event. Likewise Christ the King has invited sinners to be cleansed from their sins and to be dressed in the clean robe of righteousness that He has provided so that they may be able to enter in and enjoy the divine Marriage Supper of the Lamb at the end of time. It is an occasion that must not be missed but taken up on immediately.

It is imperative that you respond to God’s gracious invitation to be saved and renewed and made fit to enter into His eternal Kingdom. The King, Christ Jesus, has come to constitute a divine household of which you can be a member and to share in the ultimate delight of a royal feast. He would present you with the garment of His righteousness, woven particularly for you to wear, and for you to keep pure and holy ready for this climatic event. Make sure you are ready and prepared so that you do not finish up embarrassed before Him.
