A GOLDEN PROMISE from the Bible

BECOMING A FRUITFUL LIFE

The promise is assured, if you will read, meditate in the Scriptures of Truth, the Bible, and obey its directives, you will be well situated, like a fruitful tree by the river and will produce luxurious, choice and bountiful fruit. The option is really with you as to what you are to become. The privilege and opportunity is of being able to see the creation of a glorious life and ministry that will bless others and glorify God and be a living credit to you. So make most of today and every day and see that you make sure you are feeding on God’s precepts and promises and see them activated. There is no limit to what you can become or the amount of fruit that will grow and flow from your stay on earth. And after all, it is but preparation for the greater world of life!

Thought for the Day

CHANGE

Because Jesus Christ is now the Saviour and Lord of your life and living there are sure to be real changes for the better. You cannot remain as you were. He not only gives you the spiritual dynamic of a heavenly power and strength, He also unveils the thing that must captivate your attention, vision and action that create amazing transformation. You can be at your best and go for the best in and through Him and discover that being and doing becomes a dramatic development to eternal good and glory. Don’t be satisfied being what you were but sense what He has in mind and is seeking to outwork today that will take you forward and upward. Remember in the words of Paul: “It is God which worketh in you both to will and do of His good pleasure” – Philippians 2:13.

THE CATCH OF A LIFETIME – Matthew 4: 12-25

st was an unusual and unique fisherman. His occupation was in catching men and in this passage on two occasions He specifically summoned two sets of brothers, Peter and Andrew, James and John to follow Him. He had the authority and the ability to draw these four men into a life of faith and obedience to Himself. No sooner did they hear the call, they became hooked by Christ to become His followers and future leaders. He landed these big, brawny men to serve Him. He knew where to find them and what to say in order to draw them under His divine leadership.

His purpose behind the divine call was to make them fishermen in a different way. Instead of catching fish, their new trade was to catch men for Christ. They were serving a new Master and the task ahead was to influence and draw people to Him. What a success story it turned out to be, especially for Peter. On the day of Pentecost he was able to haul in 3,000 souls for Christ! The day Christ caught him was with this in view: Peter would catch others and so in both cases it became a catch of a lifetime.

You must never forget the reason why Christ summoned you, too. It was that He, might disciple you by His grace and power, so that you might be a soul-winner. The job now in hand for you is to seek to reach all those around, your family and friends, workmates and colleagues and strangers to bring them to Christ. It is the most rewarding work in life. You can be responsible for turning many choice people to Christ this forthcoming year and so advance the cause of Christ where you are.
