A GOLDEN PROMISE from the Bible

A Daily Promise

STRENGTH FOR EVERY SITUATION

There is no need for you to suffer from mental fatigue and heart failure because there is offered and open to you a promise of incredible proportions to meet all your current demands. He who hold and sustains the universe speaks these assuring words: “Fear not for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes I will hold you up and retain you with My (victorious) right hand of rightness and justice” – Isaiah 41: 10 Amp Ver. C.H. Spurgeon said:  ‘God has strength omnipotent; that strength He can communicate to us and His promise is that he will do so.  My own weakness makes me shrink, but God’s promise makes me brave’.

Thought for the Day

STRIVE

This is a word that should be descriptive of you, defining your Christian behaviour. It is to be used in a good connection. The word in its choicest definition means to do your best, go all-out, do your utmost, make every effort in your relationship with and work for the LORD. Because He is the best and has wrought the best for and in you and purposes to do the same in the coming ages, you should be sold out and given completely over to being and accomplishing the best for Him. If you are to get the most out of your Christian life, faith and service it can only be as you give it your all on a continuous basis. By so doing, you will make immense gain and advancement and really please Him who you love and pursue. Your striving will not be a vanity but prove to be the greatest reward exercise of your daily life.

QUOTES TO NOTE – Dr. Billy Graham

The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, ‘O God, forgive me,’ or ‘Help me.’

DAILY MEDITATIONS

GOD’S CONSENT – 1 Kings 9

The king was to discover that the Lord would respond to hia prayer and commitment. The lord reacted quickly and positively to his request by appearing again and assuring him that He had heard his supplication and that He would assent – vv2,3. It had not been wasted breath or expression but all had beeen taken into account and noted. He would consent to do according to his desire. How assuring it must have been to know such a positive response fro the Lord! It was imperative to obtain the ear, heart and hand of God at that point in life.

But he was to discover that there was another side to the issue of answered prayer. The Lord would do His part and fulfil His side of the agreement as long as he believed and acted aright in relation to His Word v4. Provided there was true and loving obedience, the king would know His constant blessing in the establishment of His throne and kingdom. Further, the people would profit from this. As he gave the positive spiritual lead then the people would follow and so all would benefit.

Prayer, if it is to be fulfilled, does require the love and loyalty of the believer in acts of faith and obedience. To know the abundant favour of the Lord in the joy of His benediction and supernatural interventions does demand complying with His commands and standards. No good thing will He withhold from him that walks uprightly – Psalm 84: 11. It is a sure thing: He knows whether there is a wholesome regard for Himself and His statutes on the part of the individual.
