A GOLDEN PROMISE from the Bible

A Daily Promise

This is but a simple and sure proclamation and promise: “He will fulfil the desire of them that fear Him: He also will hear their cry, and will save them” – Psalm 145;19. Nothing could but clearer and easy to understand. It is important for you to cultivate a true respect for the Lord and His Word and ways at all times. You do not simply believe in them with your mind and heart, you carry such out in your will thus proving wholeheartedly your love of Him. Reverence is not simply a religious act when you to worship with the saints in a service. It is a constant recognition of the role the Godhead must play constantly in your affairs, in all your thoughts and desires. No good thing will He withhold from you as you make sure that He above all others ins the One you honour at all times in everything. He is pleased to do exceptional things for you.

Thought for the Day

The Lord who you love, serve and believe in has the great capability of making something out of nothing at times. When people are reduced to great straits and do not know what to do, how to handle circumstances, He can and does step in to work wonders. For a widow who was totally embarrassed with only a cruse of oil at hand and with the prospect of her two sons being sold as bondmen, she experienced an incredible miracle. An oil well opened up in her own home as she was able to fill numberless empty vessels to the brim, sell the oil, pay the debt and live off the rest. Christ took five loaves and two fishes to feed thousands! You may be reduced to poverty level now and would despair. Let your faith rest in Him, in His promises and power and see a miracle before your eyes! Know, He is just the same today!

QUOTES TO NOTE – Alfred Lord Tennyson

No man ever got very high by pulling other people down. The intelligent merchant does not knock his competitors. The sensible worker does not knock those who work with him. Don’t knock your friends. Don’t knock your enemies. Don’t knock yourself.

One of the missions that Solomon was expected to fulfil was in the building of the Temple for the Lord. His father had left him a choice legacy of purpose and provision to build a magnificent sanctuary for the God of Israel. He had felt that nothing but the best was good enough for the Lord who had done so much for him and his people and so made sure that gold, silver, precious stones and resources were there in abundance for this project. The Lord needed to be in His rightful place and honoured by all so that all nations would know who Israel’s God was.

It is good to read how his son was prepared to rise to the challenge and fulfil David’s desire and God’s purpose. Certainly it would be a very demanding task, requiring a lot of people, expertise, finance and time, but it would be worth it to provide a beautiful habitation for the Lord. The time scale would be seven years but the end product would reveal the magnificence of the Temple fitted for the indwelling of Jehovah. – 6: 38. The glory of the Divine House though glorious was nothing compared to the glory of the One who would take up residence. It must have been with great satisfaction that he saw this plan fulfilled!

It may well be that God has things for us to fulfil that were the dream and desire of our forbears. Having entered into their labours, it is possible to see accomplished things that they longed for besides the vision and plans God has designed for us. Let us be positive in our outlook and mission and endeavour to be amongst those who succeed in doing things that truly bring honour to the Lord. The world needs to know how much we think about the Lord!
