A GOLDEN PROMISE from the Bible

A Daily Promise

This is not always an easy thing for you to do because the human spirit is somewhat possessed with a spirit of haste and hurry. This is so when you are in a sticky situation and seemed bereft of answers. To wait or seemingly hand around is a difficult exercise.  You can learn from history. Israel was in a real dilemma because they were situated in a closed up situation. The Red Sea was before, around was the mountains and on their tail were the Egyptian army about to recapture and enslave them. But Moses was calm and collected and said composedly: “Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today” – Exodus 14:13. He addressed the major problem in faith and assurance, and sure enough, the Lord came up with the solution. He did something different. He opened a way where there was no way, through the waters. He has not lost His ability to perform miracles. If that is your immediate need, look to Him for one1

Thought for the Day

Nothing can bring a real sense of security into the home except true love.
Even after an experience and expedition of utter failure, where all has become undone and fallen apart and yielded nothing but despair, it is time to believe and act again. It is true to say, immense successes in many fields have occurred after some of most abject experiences of failure and loss. It is so easy to sit around and mope over what has occurred but instead, get a fresh spirit, a greater dose of faith and a new revelation of possibility and move out to achieve something notable of worth. After a night’s failure at fishing with nothing to show for their toil, the disciples were ready to have a further go under Christ’s directive. He said: “Launch out into the deep . . .”and they proved He was right. He is around today to bid you to get up and going in some fresh venture that will turn out to be most fulfilling.

QUOTES TO NOTE – Dr. Billy Graham

Nothing can bring a real sense of security into the home except true love.

The time came for this famous king to die but before he did so he performed a most important act. His successor must be given a charge and vital counsel as to how he should conduct himself in his new role as monarch of God’s people. It was imperative that he adopt the course of action that would prove acceptable to the Lord so that his reign would be owned and blessed by Him. David recognized that he would require strength and courage and needed to “shew himself to be a man” – v2. Now, right from the outset, he must make up his mind and commit his life into doing what was right and good according to the design of the Lord.

The divine charge, that focused attention more than anything else on the written laws of God, demanded obedience to the Lord and His Word – v3. The prime responsibility was to make sure that he knew and carried out the divine statutes as revealed in the Law. There was no way that he could plead excuse or ignorance because it was his first duty to discover how God wanted His people governed. As he responded aright so both he and the kingdom would prosper. Nothing could be presented more surely and clearly. He owed it to God and the people to make sure he was conversant with and committed to God’s will as made known in His Word.

Every Christian believer and leader must be sensitive to this spiritual reality: the need to know God’s Word and to be devoted to its acceptance and obedience. Christ made it obvious that He expects all who profess a faith in and loyalty to Him to be ever obedient to His requirements. He makes the point that only as His words abide in us, to the extent of obedience, will we know the blessing of answered prayer. We live under His charge and authority: obedience to Him at all times.
