A GOLDEN PROMISE from the Bible

A Daily Promise

THE JOY OF THE LORD

The statement is made that ‘the joy of the Lord is your strength” – Nehemiah 8:10. The implication and confirmation is that in the possession of divine joy will be the experience and expression of heavenly strength. There will be the imbibing of energy that will enable you to accomplish choice things that will intensify the joy and strength. Make sure that that you know this ecstatic and rapturous joy, because the inevitable consequence will be, the incredible change wrought in and through you. As you open up to this factor it will dynamically inspire both your life and living. Things of an extraordinary nature will be wrought that seemed impossible. So make sure you move into this heavenly grace and gift. You will be difference and make a difference in every way and situation. You will be one of those people that are pleased you are around with your positive contribution. Yes, the joy of the Lord is available, and so is His strength!

Thought for the Day

UNBELIEF

If there is one evil that can rob you a great deal of the presence and blessing of the Lord, it is unbelief. It was the sin that robbed Adam and Eve of paradise, which kept Israel out of the Promised Land for forty years. It is the wicked factor that seeks to waylay your mind and heart seeking to prevent you knowing and enjoying the fulfilment of God’s promises on a regular basis. You need to be vigilant and aware of this and take necessary action. Ever seek to be full of the Holy Spirit and God’s Word and you will slay this foul thing and move into the expectations of your Lord. Look at those before who would not tolerate its presence or activity but re-acted rightly to all that the Lord had planned and provided and were blessed and successful. Be the man and woman of faith that the Lord called you to be, today!

QUOTES TO NOTE – Sai Baba

Life is a song – sing it. Life is a game – play it. Life is a challenge – meet it. Life is a dream – realize it. Life is a sacrifice – offer it. Life is love – enjoy it.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

A WEARY BUT STRONG HAND – 2 Samuel 23: 9-10

In the list of mighty men is one named Eleazar. This brief account affirms one of his unique exploits. He certainly found himself up against it and in an extreme situation in a fight but he was able to stand his ground and win the victory. Mention is made that he was alone to contend because the ‘men of Israel were gone away’ – v9. It would have been easy for him to have fled and saved his own life but he decided to stand firm and was determined to deal with the enemy. There was no way that he was going to leave the scene of conflict but he meant to register an overwhelming triumph in spite of the odds.

The language is inspiring – “He arose” – v10. Within him there was birthed the will to defeat the foe no matter how many of them there were, and the more they came at him, the more he fought and won. His hand became weary but he would not let go of his sword in wielding it until all were slain. He was not going to be a victim but the victor. It is a sad comment to note that his people only returned to take the spoils! How good it would if there had been someone alongside him in the fight!

Because others do not become involved in the contest with evil powers and factors, it is no excuse for us to excuse ourselves and opt out of the fray. We require this consecrated and decisive spirit to stand up and contest the things that need to be confronted. Let us not grow weary but emulate this character that won through against the odds. It is time that we took the spoils from the enemy and have something of worth to share with the Church of God.
