Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 135,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Daily Promise Box, the Bible,  a Thought for the day from my pen, A Choice Quotation and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible, something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

Within the Bible are innumerable promises given to those who are committed to God in love, faith and obedience. They are of such a quality of character and sufficiency that through their reception and acknowledgement, God purposes to perform in every way in incredible way.  He wants you to know, receive and believe them and see His hand at work continuously through them.

A Daily Promise

Guided to Make the Right Decision – Gen 1:5-17

Abraham finds himself seemingly in an impossible situation. Lot and he had so prospered that it was difficult to handle this situation with their mutual propserity. The patriarch really required the help of the Lord to somehow deal with the awkward state of affairs. Wisely he gave his nephew preference as to what he should do, where to go etc. In his own heart and mind he must have sensed and believed it would be good to leave the issue with the Lord to sort it out for Him. And He did! He trusted the Lord to act and the Lord was not slow after the separation. Promise of untold growth and increase was to be his and phenomenal possession. Note the promise and directive in v17 – “Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land for I am giving it you”. There was to be limit as to how things were to finish up. There are moments when you have to hand everything over to Him and let Him work things out and have His say. He will guide! He will show to you that He has nothing but extension in mind and you will inherit immensely. He will make the decision for you given sacred promise for much more.

Thought for the Day

One of the things you have to discover and learn in your Christian life and experience is the truth that you are called to live and move in the realm of divine dynamics. In no way can you exercise and evidence the Christian faith and life by natural, self energy and strength. Someone bigger is required inside of you that can inspire and release a unique verve and vitality that enables you to reveal the quality of God’s nature and abilities. The reason for the incarnation of Christ was that He may be incarnate in you and manifest His person and qualities in and through you. Paul could say: “Christ liveth in me” and “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me” – Gal 2: 20; Phil 4:13. This shows the real dynamic of his life and service. The same must be true of you, too!

QUOTES TO NOTE – Harriet Beecher Stove

I did not write it. God wrote it. I merely did his dictation./

TAKING THE STRONGHOLD – 2 Samuel 5: 6-16

The first thing to confront David appeared to have been a major obstacle, the taking of Jerusalem. It is referred to as a formidable stronghold. Those in possession of it, the Jebusites, ridiculed the prospect that he could master and make it his possession. They said, “Why, even the blind and the lame could defend it.” Later, in Israel’s history, the Babylonians found the taking of this city to be a very difficult proposition because of its situation and fortification. The whole thing was a challenge to God’s servant but he did not allow it to stop his progress.

It may have looked problematic, but David was always up to a challenge in God. He was not put off in the slightest but realized it needed to be overpowered and possessed. And it occurred! It states: “Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion: the same is the city of David.” – v7. This place was to become the city of God and the habitation where he would take residence and rule. It would become more fortified than ever and he would go on to greater strength and success – v9. There would be no holding back to greater movements and enlargements.

Maybe you have a stronghold that requires taking. Before you can move on, you have to lay siege and seize the major obstacle to progress and make it the venue for the Lord from which to manifest His presence and power. The challenge is before you and you need to see and seize it and move on to fulfil the immense destiny that God has in mind for you. Do not lay off, but take the opportunity of registering a supreme triumph from which others proceed. From your new base you will be able to conduct successful enterprises in God.
