A GOLDEN PROMISE from

THE DAILY PROMISE BOX – THE BIBLE

Within the Bible are innumerable promises given to those who are committed to God in love, faith and obedience. They are of such a quality of character and sufficiency that through their reception and acknowledgement, God purposes to perform in every way in incredible way.  He wants you to know, receive and believe them and see His hand at work continuously through them.

GUIDANCE

A Daily Promise

Guided to Step Out in Faith – Gen 12: 1

God said to the well-known patriarch – “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you” – Genesis 12:1 He had a special place for him go, live and see tremendous success. Although he was wealthy where he was and quite self-sufficient, he realized that God had something better and bigger if he stepped out in faith and began to journey with Him. He’d rather be directed and inspired by God than just live a mediocre, natural existence. Left to self he was going nowhere: going with God meant really going somewhere! He was prepared to become a pilgrim and implicitly look to God to guide him every day in every way. He was not to be disappointed or lose out. In 1954 the Lord called my wife and I to step out in faith trusting Him to lead and fulfil a choice ministry. It was a challenge that has been amply rewarded. He cannot and will not fail you as you look to Him as your true Guide and Counsellor. He wills to open the door and way for you, NOW.

Thought for the Day

WORTH WAITING FOR

There are some things in this present life worth anticipating and waiting for. When they ultimately arrive they have a way of bringing untold pleasure and delight with no disappointment. Know that God your Father has some extraordinary and seemingly incredible things to manifest to His whole Family at the end of time. What he unveils will be seen to be worth the time waiting for their disclosure. When Christ puts in His appearance as promised, what choice blessings will be revealed and released. There will not only be the indescribable joy of seeing Him in His glory, but to see the resurrected saints with their new bodies for eternal habitation. There will be the revelation of heaven with all of its beauty, treasures, community of angels and the sons of God, besides the blessed Trinity, and the sense that henceforth the continual unfolding of a meaningful eternal existence. There will be no one and nothing there to disappoint – so lift up your eyes and see in faith what is to be yours!

QUOTES TO NOTE – Harriet Beecher Stove

The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

GROWING STRONGER – 2 Samuel 3 & 4

It took a few years before David was to assume total leadership over the whole nation even though the main opposition had been removed. One would have thought he would have had quick access to complete rule but it was not to be. There was to be quite a stretch of time before all the people were ready to attest his headship. He had to learn to wait the appropriate moment when this would be. It may well have been a period of frustration that he had deal with and trust God to work it out. There was no forcing the issue on his side.

The encouraging sign for him was that his situation grew stronger and stronger – 3: 1. Evidence was given from the Lord that he was bringing things forward at his speed and the time would arrive when all would come to pass. Disruption and division became manifest in the opposite camp and eventually Abner decided to go to David and avow his allegiance and this would pave the way for him to come to overall rule. Unfortunately things went bad for Abner and Ishbosheth; both lost their lives through murder and David was in no way aligned to their deaths. He showed his mind in relation to both and revealed his wholesome attitude.

God intends that we should move forward to achieve His destiny for our lives but we have to learn to move at his rate and according to divine principles. Going carefully and prayerfully is the best way ahead. In adopting this way we will grow stronger and be in a better situation when more is thrust upon us. When the time is right and ripe all will be set up by God to achieve His purpose in and through us. He that believes does not make haste but rests in God and His workings.
