WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 135,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible, something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

”For the word of Yahweh is right. All his work is done in faithfulness” – Psalm 33:4
If I would make a promise to my children and they would question the integrity of what I promised, that would hurt me deeply. As a father, it is my hope that my children would have confidence in my character and my word. If they doubted what I said, then I would feel that they question the very core of who I am.

I believe that the foundation of any relationship is trust. If there is no trust, then the relationship is on shaky ground. In today’s promise, the Psalmist is singing praises to God and makes the declaration that the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth. The NLT Bibles says Psalm 33:4 this way… For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does.

If we struggle to believe that God’s word is true, then we are in effect doubting God’s very character. Every time we question God’s Word or His goodness, we are agreeing with the father of lies and the continual accusations he brings against God. Just as this would hurt an earthly father, I believe that it deeply grieves the Father of Lights.

The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith, it is impossible to please God. I believe that our God and Father loves it when His kids simply believe every word He says… Just like a little child believes everything their mom or dad has to say to them.

My prayer today is that Holy Spirit would make us aware of the unbelieving thoughts that come into our mind and we would break any power of agreement with them, for the Word of the LORD is right and we can trust everything that He does and says!

WISDOM THAT WORKS

DEFYING REASON – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“There are three things too wonderful for me to understand-no four! How how an eagle glides through the sky. How a serpent crawls upon a rock. How a ship finds its way across an heaving ocean. The gowrth of love between a man and a girl . . .”

Read: Proverbs 3):18-20

There will always be cause for us us to all marvel at the how, why and wherefore of life. They defy logic and reason and sometimes even the laws of the universe that they are supposed to comply with. I refer of course to the humble bumblebee. Aerodynamics can now explain to us how an eagle glides through the sky. But the bumblebee defies all of those established laws of aeronautics as it carries a body weight miles out of proportion to its wingspan!.

I am sure that zoologists can now explain how snakes move across the earth’s surface and mariners explain the principle of navigation and how their precision instruments help them to get from A to B, but what about the romance of the heart? Have you ever heard someone comment on the reason for some young ladies attraction to a young man and say, “What does she see in him?” or vice-versa?

A philosopher of past generations rightly observed ‘The heart has reasons that reason knows nothing about”.

The fact is that there are some things in life that will always defy reason and yet nevertheless be as indisputable as life itself! Not the least of these reasons defying explanation is our capacity to have faith in an invisible God. Hallelujah!

QUOTES TO NOTE – Nelson Mandela

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

A SENSIBLE MEDITATION – Psalm 49

Right from the start we are told to “Hear this, all you people” -v1. It is a message that everyone needed to be tuned into and aware of irrespective of status and standing. A focus in the psalm is placed upon the issue of riches and a notable understanding is given with regard to them. Even in his day, centuries ago, people were consumed with a desire to be rich and seemed to lack a real knowledge about their limitations. Even today, there are those who believe that if they were blessed with a lot of wealth they would be happy and fulfilled. This is not necessarily so.

It is pointed out that money has its shortcomings. In time of real difficulty especially with regard to health, riches may not release from pain and sickness. Money is also powerless to save the soul from death and ultimate judgment – vv6-11. Although people may like to leave some sense of immortality behind them in naming their lands after them, they cannot take either name or riches into the eternal world – vv11, 17. A person may make millions in this life but it is all left behind. There is the revelation of what is more important than wealth; it is righteousness. The message is that “the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning” – v14.

Do not set your mind and heart upon becoming rich as if it is the answer to life with all of its demands. The vital thing for you today is to know what it is to be saved from the power of sin and to walk with God in His righteous ways. The true riches are of a spiritual nature and order that are beyond all material values. All your needs for life and living are guaranteed by Him and at the end of the journey, there is heaven, immortality with His eternal blessedness. Such is true riches!
