WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible, something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

“They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads” – Rev 22:4

In the book of Genesis, the story begins with our God and Father creating the heavens and the earth and all that is in it. In the book of Revelation, the Bible ends with the promise that we will see God face to face and His name will be written on our foreheads.  What an amazing hope that we all have to look forward to.

In the Old Testament, no man could see God and live. When we get to heaven, we will be able to look face to face into His loving eyes and have His name imprinted upon us.  I pray that God will open the eyes of our hearts today so that by faith we will be able to look forward to that day when He will wipe all our tears away.

This is our destiny. This is where we are headed if we have received the free gift of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ’s life. We have nothing to fear. We have nothing to dread. Just an eternity of glorious bliss, gazing into the eyes of the One who loved us before the creation of the world. Hallelujah!

WISDOM THAT WORKS

GOD’S LAST WORD – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“Every word of God proves  true. He defends all who come to Him for protection. Do not add to His words lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

Read: Proverbs 30:5—6

One of the problems that translators of the Bible have, is trying to not only find comparable words in another language to that of the original, but also to convey what they believe the writer is actually wanting to say. The classic example of this in the English language is the phrase “l am just pulling your leg”. This phrase can easily be translated word for word in any other language in the world but alas it would not convey the meaning it has for every English reader, namely, “I am just joking” or “l am just having some fun with you”. This is why translators need to be familiar with the idioms and nuances of both languages.

Adam Clarke, the great Bible Commentator and preacher of a bygone era, was adamantly against any paraphrase of the Bible and I shudder to think what his reaction would have been to our Living Bible renderings of God’s word. The King James Version translators were so keen not to be accused of adding to God’s word that they printed every word not found in the original manuscripts in italics so there would be no misunderstanding.

The wonderful fact still remains today that you can always go to God’s word for the defence of all you believe about God and find the protection you need, whatever such protection may be!

QUOTES TO NOTE – John Maxwell

The secret of your success is determined by your daily agenda.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

A VITAL REQUEST – Psalm 43

Prayer is a holding of a communion and a conversation with God and to be able to request Him with regard to the variety of needs and circumstances that arise within life. The psalmist, it appears, loved to pray over every detail respecting his situations and in v3 makes a vital request: “O send out your light and truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto your holy hill, and to your tabernacles.” What an essential thing it is to ask! He realized the darkness that the natural mind was in and what confusion arises because of being in the dark, and so the need for divine help. In the dark you are left to guesswork and mistakes can be made. God is never in the dark and possesses the power to give true revelation and direction and so the prayer.

He wanted light and truth to lead him into the right and best places, and what better than being brought into the place where God dwelt. To dwell in God’s presence is a great asset because it is a place where all the guidance and assistance he would need would be given. Besides knowing the delightful company of the Lord, he would be sure of receiving instruction that would point the way ahead into fruitful living and enterprise.

Why not make this prayer your prayer now and discover in a marked and greater way His presence and providence? He is the One that still responds to the sincere and earnest prayer of His own and you will be led into the perfect pathway. The glorious consequence of this answer coming to pass, results in verse four being fulfilled. You will be found with a praising and joyful spirit unto Him that has answered you.
