Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible, something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“How precious is your loving kindness, God! The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings” – Psalm 36:&

Both the NIV and the NLT versions of the Bible call God’s lovingkindness His unfailing love in this passage of Scripture. It is comforting to be reminded that all humanity is welcome to take refuge in the shadow of Papa’s wings. Day or night, His wings are spread open wide enough, so that every person on this planet can find protection in the secret place of the Most High.

Whether we take God up on His offer of shelter is more of the question at hand. We are free to respond to His love or reject it. No matter how we respond to Him, His promise stands forever. His love is steadfast and unfailing. We can find refuge in His wings if we just choose to believe that this is the truth.

The tragedy is that so many people go through their entire lives without ever knowing this powerful promise. An even greater tragedy is when those of us who know this promise somehow forget that this can be a tangible reality that we can live in for the rest of our lives.

My encouragement today is for you to quiet yourself and ask Papa God to show you what it looks like for you to take refuge under the shadow of His wings. He is waiting for you to respond to His invitation. This is a promise that we can trust in because our Heavenly Dad keeps all His promises!

DECADENCE – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily; but with honest sensible leaders there is stability”.

Read: Proverbs 28:2

Decadence, like white ants left uncheck a timber home, will eventually bring down society which refuses to address moral decay. Once the ravages of collective immorality set into the fabric of a nation or community will not be long before anarchy ensues destabilization will be the order of the day.

As I sit to write this commentary on the proverb there is an international push amongst the wealthy G7 Nations to try to bring enormously resource blessed continent of Africa out of the abyss of the ravages of decadence. There is a heart amongst the wealthy nations to wipe out altogether the national debt of recalcitrant nation states whose resources been pillaged by leaders who have feathered their own nests to the detriment of the masses. Then there is the ravage of the AIDS which is now rising to pandemic proportions. All the result of moral decadence, which like the ants already mentioned, has all but eaten away these tragic societies and reduced them to images of pity and sadness. Even with a heart to try and rectify such national disasters the gut feeling amongst is that the situation is already hopeless.

We need to thank God for honest, sensible leaders, whose motives reach higher the possession of some Swiss bank account and who do all they can to benefit the people they represent.

QUOTES TO NOTE – Albert Schweitzer

The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others

How sad to read of the experience of Saul at this late hour in his career when he was facing an enormous crisis! The Philistines had gathered for a major conflict and there was no Samuel to turn to and it appears that the Lord was not interested in him. God’s word states, “And when Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord did not answer him either by dream or by Urim or by the prophets” – v6. Heaven was silent! It was a terrible predicament to be in.

Worse was to follow. He turned to finding a solution by the wrong means, a way that was strictly forbidden by the God’s Word – Leviticus 19:31; Isaiah 8: 19. This was a procedure that God was completely against and reveals how far Saul had gone from God. He could have recalled David and allowed him to take the lead and submit himself to him, but his envy and jealousy had rendered him devoid of true spiritual sense and direction. In the incident he finds himself being utterly rebuked by the words of Samuel.

It is imperative that we have a good and wholesome relationship with God so we are able to talk to Him at all times over every developing situation. His direction and help is ever required on a daily and hourly basis. Nothing should be allowed to intrude and interrupt our walk with God, so that when any emergency arises, the line is open to Him and we have His infallible word coming through to assure and afford the immediate answer required. Let our relationships with each other ever keep us also in good standing with Him.
