WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible, something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

“Your righteousness is like the mountains of God. Your judgments are like a great deep. Yahweh, you preserve man and animal” – Psalm 36:6

I believe that all creation is constantly speaking about our Father’s kindness. In today’s promise, King David declares that the righteousness of our God towers like the majestic mountains of the earth and His justice goes as deep as the deepest part of the sea.

In Psalm 103:11-12 David continues this comparison when He declares… 11For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; 12as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. (ESV)

If we look for it, every aspect of nature will help us comprehend the greatness of our God. The mountains speak of His righteousness, the seas speak of His justice. The birds and the flowers speak of His daily provision. Thunder and lightning speak of His majesty. May each one of us hear God speaking in all that surrounds us in this great world that we live in.

As Jesus told us in Matthew 6:26… Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? (ESV) All creation is bearing witness to the amazing love of our Heavenly Dad. May we see His goodness in a fresh new way today as we look at all that He has created.

WISDOM THAT WORKS

ARGUMENTS – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“AS surely as wind from the north brings cold, as surely a retort causes anger. It is better to live in the corner of the attic than in a beautiful home with a cranky, quarrelsome woman”.

Read: Proverbs 25: 23,24

There comes a point in verbal interaction enough has been said and your point has made. After this cut-off point has been the chances are that to continue with chatter is only going to cause emotions inflamed.

Arguments are a necessary fact of life it enables us to get things off our chest so at least we have the personal being able to express our opinion on a matter. The problem arises when argument becomes degenerative. That is, argument for its own sake, or possibly for the even worse of rubbing salt into a wound that can culminate in an angry hostile response. By all means make your point. After all every one of us is entitled to an opinion, even if that opinion is at odds with someone else’s idea of things.

The secret is to know when to stop and withdraw from the fray. Whenever you feel cold wind of unnecessary conflict blowing around your neck, make haste to move to warmer climate away from the argumentative zone. Such a zone may be a beautiful but even an attic will give you more serenity then a cranky, quarrelsome environment to mention a quarrelsome woman or man!

A QUOTE TO NOTE – Dr. Martin Luther King (Jnr)

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

DIVINE DIRECTION – 1 Samuel 9: 1-20

Who would have thought that the loss of some asses would lead to the outworking of God’s providential arrangements in the appointment of a king! But that is what happened. This is where the story commences with regard to Saul who was privileged to become the first king of Israel. He had an unusual start to his career. He was sent out on an errand to retrieve his uncle’s animals that had been lost and finished up at the end of the proceedings chosen to be the monarch of the nation! There was a strange yet purposeful designs in operation at that time.

The whole calling was confirmed and vouchsafed to him in a remarkable manner. After a frustrating time seeking the asses, he and the servant arrived at a city where Samuel was and the servant had the good sense and idea to make inquiry of the prophet to save time. But the Lord had something more in mind! The Lord had already informed and set up Samuel with the news that the future king of Israel would arrive that day – vv15, 16, and everything coincided as had been revealed. It all came divinely to pass.

God does guide us in life and often in some strange ways. As we hand all over to Him, He is well able to bring things to pass that deal with our future destiny. He knows how to work everything in a precise fashion and achieve that which is good to His glory. Submit yourself to Him and He will outwork in His marvellous way His purposes that will enrich your life, ministry and mission.
