Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

”For his anger is but for a moment. His favour is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning” – Psalm 30:5

I can remember times when our children were young, they would sometimes do things that required my discipline. Even in the most serious of situations, my displeasure with them only lasted but a moment. Any loving father or mother knows that little kids will inevitably make some mistakes along the way and there is loads of grace for that.

I always anticipated being able to get back playing with my kids as soon as possible after a moment of discipline. There is an old saying that parents have said throughout the generations just prior to dealing with issues of correction… “This is going to hurt me more than it hurts you.” As a child myself, I had a hard time believing this statement, but as a parent, I can really identify with it.

If we in our humanness feel this way towards our children, how much more does our Heavenly Father feel this way towards us! That is why King David says in today’s promise that God’s displeasure only lasts for a moment, but His favour is ours for life!

May the love of God dismantle every wrong belief that we have of the character and nature of our Heavenly Father. He loves to love us at every turn! He can’t help but love because He is the epitome of love itself! May you feel His favour shining upon you today and for the rest of your life!

SPITEFULNESS – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“Don’t testify spitefully against an innocent neighbour; Why lie about him? Don’t say, “Now I can pay him back for all his meanness to me!”

Read: Proverbs 24:28-29

All children, wherever they may live in the world, are the classic examples of spitefulness. It doesn’t take us long to learn how to harbour grievances or grudges against our brothers, sisters and friends who may have been mean to us. How gleeful we are when we can get our own back in some spiteful scenario, only to be reproved by our parents for not returning good for evil.

In those early years it all seems the wrong way round to us. Surely if somebody has treated me badly then it is only fair that I return the compliment and with compound interest added on for good measure! Of course we make allowances for our youngsters in the knowledge that they have yet to form the social and moral character that will enable them to resist the temptation to get even. It certainly doesn’t happen overnight and sadly sometimes is never learnt by some folks even into adulthood.

Spitefulness is the manifestation of unbridled resentment and if not dealt with effectively will go on to become anger, then bitterness and ultimately unforgiveness.

Deal any expression of spitefulness a death blow now before more serious tendencies take a foothold.

Organizing is what you do before you do something, so that when you do it, it is not all mixed up.

A WORTHY PURSUIT – 1 Samuel 2: 22-36

The Lord makes it perfectly clear what the principle and pursuit should really be within every person that would have a rewarding relationship and experience with Himself. It could not be more precise and direct – v 30 “For them that honour me I will honour, and they despise me shall be lightly esteemed.” This was and is to be the governing rule and procedure in the outworking of life here on earth before Him. He was making this known by a man of God to Eli the priest who ought to have known this and implemented it within the framework of his family.

He had two sons who were a disgrace to God, to himself and to God’s people. They were disobedient and rebellious and should have been put out of office and work for the Lord, but he did not do so. He permitted them to do outrageous things that affected the welfare of the worship of the people towards God and did not remove them from the role of priests. They were not worthy in their conduct and certainly did not merit credit from the Lord. The Lord warns that He will take action – vv31-34. The Lord cannot be fooled around with impunity.

Let us see that all we do today and always is in accord with His mind and will and that we will cultivate the right spiritual attitude in outworking everything in our lives. Our aim, like Christ, should be to ‘always do those things that please the Father’ – John 8:29. One could not have a worthier motivation or pursuit. In honouring and pleasing God, He has His own way of returning the compliment and compensating in magnificent ways and style. Daniel ever respected the Lord and, as a consequence, knew and enjoyed the rich promotions of God. He will do the same for you as you dedicate your life and work in this way.
