Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is on me; because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound” – Isaiah 61:1

Isaiah 61 was a prophetic declaration of the ministry that Jesus would usher in when He started His public ministry. God’s heart has always been to proclaim good news for everyone who needs to hear it. He opens up every prison door and He sets every captive free! Hallelujah for a Saviour who is so committed to our personal freedom!

His proclamation of freedom is as relevant today as it was the day that Isaiah penned these words. God wants us to be completely free because where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty! (2 Corinthians 3:17) My prayer today is that every prison door that still holds us captive would be consumed by the love of God so that we could live a really free life. It is for the very love of freedom that Jesus has set you and I free! (Galatians 5:1)

May each one of us experience a deeper level of God’s freedom today than we have experienced before. May every weight be lifted off our shoulders and may the joy of the Lord be our strength. He never created us to be captive. We were created to be free!

A FRANK REPLY – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“It is an honour to receive a frank reply?

Read: Proverbs 24:2

This must be the shortest of all the Proverbs yet stunningly simple in its declaration. So, I ask myself the question it poses. Why is it such honour to receive a frank reply?  I came up with the following reasons. Firstly, to be able to receive a frank and honest reply you have to be secure in who you are as a person and who you are in Christ. Secondly, you have to be mature enough to accept any valid criticism that ma be conveyed to you in a frank reply. Thirdly, there has to be a measure of emotional stability that enables you not to retaliate, or react out of hurt or anger, should something be said to you that touches a raw nerve in your psychological defence mechanism.

Lastly, there has to be a spirit of humility that is prepared to acknowledge the possibility of shortcomings and weaknesses which we would be better off knowing about so that some corrective procedures can be put in place. Such corrections can only help in making us that better person.

I must confess that these kinds of responses or reactions are not easily come by and those able to display them deserve the honour of which such responses are worthy.

A QUOTE TO NOTE – Abraham Lincoln

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

A GRATEFUL HEART – 1 Samuel 2: 1-10

This God-fearing, believing woman was so full of gratitude to the Lord because of His gracious intervention into her barren state that she made a solemn promise – “Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord, as long as he liveth, he shall be lent to the Lord.” Added to this, she was overwhelmed with gratitude and exploded in thankfulness and praise. She got a wonderful, ecstatic view of the Lord and could not refrain from expressing her immense regard of Him. The Lord had lifted her into a new dimension and dynamic as she pondered Him and His workings.

One thing that the Lord does is to deal with the proud and the arrogant and to raise the lowly into a glorious status. He works on behalf of those in extreme need and ensures that they are blessed in a magnificent way. The former situation was lost sight of because He performed a miracle on her behalf and turned the whole thing completely round. The trial had led to the triumph of the Lord and brought about a completely new position for her. She was no longer down but on top of the world with the Lord as her Redeemer and Blesser. He is worthy to be praised! Beyond all!

It is good to review what God has done and as a consequence overflow with worship and praise. So much, more good is wrought in and through us as we adopt a similar attitude. It paves the way for even additional blessings and helps us to effectively cope with any current situations. Let thankfulness to God characterise this day and see what He will do.
