WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

“For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them” – Hebrews 6: 10

Today’s promise simply says that God will not forget all the love you have shown to Him by serving others. The New International Version Bible translation of Hebrews 6:10 says… God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. (NIV)

We are called to not grow weary in doing good, but to keep on running the unique race marked out for each one of us. Sometimes that is easier said than done though. I am sure at one time or another we have all been tired and even discouraged in the race that we have been called to run. Today’s encouragement is simply… don’t give up! God sees your heart and is touched by the way you have shown your love to Him by loving and serving others.

WISDOM THAT WORKS

BOUNCE BACK – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“O evil man, leave the upright man alone and quit trying to cheat him out of his rights. Don’t you know that this good man, though you trip him up seven times, will each time rise again?”

Read: Proverbs 1; 1-6

When I first gave my life to Jesus it had a radical and immediate impact on my life. This turnaround in my life and lifestyle left me with the mistaken impression that I was now perfect and absolutely sinless. What a shock and disappointment it was to me that my sinful nature still had the capacity to regain its control over my life.

I remember seeking out the pastor of the church I attend to share with him my sorrow and disappointment for not maintaining my perfection.

That was the first time I learned the truth of today’s Proverb. It’s not getting tripped up by our sinful nature that is so much the problem.  It’s what I do when I get tripped! The Bible says “If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. (1 John 1:9) Whether seven times or seventy times seven, the grace and mercy of God is always available to meet me at my point of need, whether I wittingly, or unwittingly fall to the influences of the old nature. Hallelujah!

Whenever I have needed to draw on that unlimited supply of God’s mercy and grace, I have always experienced a bounce back which enables me to get up once again and run my race with patience, be it seven or seventy times seven.

A QUOTE TO NOTE – Abraham Lincoln

You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

CAREFUL PROCEDURE – Ruth 3: 1- 11

It was time to act with care and prayer as Naomi realized that there was a divine working in what had previously taken place. It had been, by no means, a stroke of good luck or fortune that Ruth had gone to work where she did and encountered Boaz. She persisted in labouring as a gleaner in the harvest. Ruth displayed, at the same time, all the tokens of her consistency and virtue.  Naomi sensed she could act according to the Biblical law and in line with the Israelite culture in seeking the covering for her daughter-in-law in marriage with a near of kin. Boaz was a suitable partner for this to come to pass. It was the right time to seek the well being of Ruth. It was pay back time!

So Ruth washed and dressed in a becoming manner, then went in agreement with the designed plan – vv3–7. It all worked out smoothly and sweetly because Boaz was ready to fulfil his duty as kinsman. He had already been impressed and moved by the quality of this woman and was smitten with a desire to own her as his wife. It would seem that he had already been affected and warmed in his heart, and so it was no problem when he was asked to fulfil his kinsman-redeemer role.

There are occasions when we should know what to do in cooperating with God and His word in the bringing to pass of choice factors in our lives. We have to do that which is permissible before Him, and when we do, He brings and ties everything together. It is sensed, at the end of it all, that the Lord acts behind the whole process to work for our growth, good and happiness.
