Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“Yahweh, in the morning you shall hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly” –Psalm 5:3

God is with us when we are awake and He is with us when we sleep. King David declared in Psalm 139 that there was no place that he could go to escape the presence of the Lord. In today’s promise, King David writes that the Lord is listening to our prayers when we call out to Him in the morning.

Think about this for a minute. God watches over us when we are sleeping and He is right there ready to hear our prayers the moment that we wake up! It absolutely amazes me when I think of how attentive our Heavenly Father is to our needs. Jesus told us in Matthew 6:8 that our Heavenly Father knows what we need before we even ask.

So when you first open your eyes tomorrow morning, think of this promise. God is waiting to hear from you. His heart is longing for us to commune with Him morning, noon and night. He is always watching over us and He is listening for our voice when we rise in the morning.

BRAINS OR BRAWN – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“A wise man is mightier than a strong man. Wisdom is mightier than strength”.

Read: Proverbs 24:5

Military history abounds with incidents of insurmountable obstacles being overcome by the ability to think creatively about the best use of the forces at your disposal. Neolithic man is credited with moving huge stones over hundreds of miles and then erecting tm with precise geometric form, and all without the assistance of machinery that we would consider mandatory for such an undertaking.

This is the result of the creative approach in the use of both brains and brawn! We have all heard the saying that the pen is mightier than the sword because of its power to influence the course of history and current events. The ability to influence the minds and hearts of mankind will always outlive the capacity to conquer by brute force. Not only that, but such influence must be backed up with a philosophy of life that has the ring of truth about it.

Marxist Communism sought to win the hearts and minds of the massive populations of the former USSR but failed utterly and completely. Why you ask? Its precepts were not grounded in truth and could only be perpetuated by the nefarious means of brutal repression. Wisdom will always be mightier than brute force especially when that wisdom is God’s.

A QUOTE TO NOTE – Robert H. Schuller

It takes but one positive thought when given a chance to survive and thrive to overpower an entire army of negative thoughts.

DECIDING TO RETURN – Ruth 1: 6, 7; Luke 15

There came the moment when Naomi had to make up her mind how to respond to her situation. She could stay and live in Moab amongst a great deal of people who did not know her, and with her memories, or return home and try to make a fresh start with those of her own kith and kin. It would be quite a wrench and a sense of helplessness and possible hopelessness possessed her mind and heart.  It was with mixed emotions that she decided that it was time to make the break and somehow trust that things would turn out better.

There was at least some bright prospect in view. The news had trickled through – “for she heard in the country of Moab how the Lord had visited His people in giving them bread.” At least there was now no longer any food shortage! Glimmers of hope are helpful when decision to return has to be made. The prodigal son, in the greatest of straits, decided to return because the prospects at his father’s house were better than the situation he was in. Humble pie would have to be eaten but it was better than staying put and having no pie at all to eat!

It may well be that decision time is in line for us at this hour. Maybe you are stuck in a circumstance of your own doing that has not yielded much good, in fact, you are worse off! Instead of hanging around in defeat and depression, be bold and daring and take the remedial course of action that will be the turning point in your spiritual or natural career. Get back on track with the Lord and His will and see what will take place of a providential nature.
