Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

”God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” – Psalm 46:1

In today’s promise, the psalmist makes the declaration that God is ready to help us at the first sign of trouble. He is always with us and is our refuge and strength when we need shelter from the storms that come our way. Reading from the English Standard Version Bible, I want to read Psalm 46: 1-3.

”God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling” – Selah (ESV)

When we read the first three verses of this psalm, we can fully appreciate the result of us embracing the promise that God is a very present help for us in times of trouble… We will not fear. Even if the earth itself gives way, we will not fear. If the mountains are thrown into the sea… We will not be afraid. Though the waters roar and the mountains tremble… We will be safe in the secret place of the Most High.

In a time when natural disasters are at an all time high and there are increasing wars and rumors of wars, we need to be convinced that God is who He says He is. He is our ever present help in our time of trouble and He promises to be our refuge and the very strength of our life. May the revelation of this promise bring peace to all of us that passes our understanding.

”Don’t envy godless men; don’t even enjoy their company. For they spend their days plotting violence and cheating”.

Read: Proverbs 24: 1,2

Two things are going to shape your character more than you realize. The books that you read and the company you keep! There probably is one more that we should add to the list in these days of the visual media, the TV programmes you watch!

Whose company do you enjoy the most? Whoever they are, they will have an inevitable influence on your life whether you are conscious of it or not. The fact that there are people out there in our world taking deliberate steps to engage in violence and deception cannot be ignored. We also cannot ignore the possibility of becoming involved, by association, either through a mutual colleague or other social media connections.

I know of a family in South America whose son is in prison on suspicion of drug dealing because he was riding with two friends in a car when pulled over by the police. Drugs were discovered in the car which was being driven by his friend’s father and the three of them were implicated even though at least one of them was completely innocent.

Even the criminal element of our society can look quite respectable these days and do need to be careful about who we link up with. The Bible says “evil associations corrupt good manners Whose company are you keeping? (See 1 Cor 15:33)

A QUOTE TO NOTE – Robert H. Schuller

Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come.

AN APALLING STORY – Judges 19-21

This is one of the most appalling stories to be found in God’s Word that gives a revelation of the depths of depravity that people can sink to when they act in a godless manner. It seems impossible that an incident of this nature could take place amongst a people who should have known better. They had experienced so much good at the hands of God and possessed the clear directives as found in His written law. God is prepared to expose the darker and evil things to show the true state of affairs. In no way does He condone evil, but reveals there is a heavy price to be paid when it is committed.

A husband and wife, who sought shelter and hospitality, went through the horrific experience of the wife being abused and killed by the men of the town – v27.  The sons of Belial, belonging to the Benjamites, were worse than animals! The land was visibly shocked by the deed and sensed it must be atoned for. The request was for those responsible to be called to account – 20: 13. Regrettably they would not take remedial action and so enormous and needless loss of life was sustained on both sides.

When God and His Word are not honoured it allows all kinds of evil to arise and be in evidence. A matter of personal concern is that the Lord would protect us and our loved ones from the evil intentions and actions of others in Society. Today’s world mirrors too many horrific stories and God’s people require His preservation order upon their persons and lives.
