WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 135,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

“Because you have made Yahweh your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall happen to you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling” – Psalm 91: 9-10

Psalm 91 is an amazing chapter for anyone who struggles with the fear of not being safe. It is a powerful picture of safety and security. It tells us that we are living in the secret place of the Most High. In today’s promise we read that when we make our home in the Lord, no evil will come our way because we live in the fortress of the living God.

I am sure that many of us have watched movies or read stories of huge castles, surrounded by high walls, motes and scores of soldiers. Even that picture of safety and security pales to the sense of protection that we have when we abide under the shadow of our Papa’s wing.

Jesus did tell us that in this world we will have trouble, but we can be encouraged because He has overcome the world. Living in the secret place does not mean that we are insulated from trouble but it does mean that when troubles come, He is the safe place where we can find safety and security.

WISDOM THAT WORKS

BE PREPARED – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“The rich and poor are alike before the Lord who made them all. A prudent ,an foresees the difficulties ahead and prepares for them; the simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. True humility and respect for the Lord lead a man to riches, honour and long life”.

Read: Proverbs 22:2-

‘Be4 Prepared’ is the motto of the Boy Scout movement founded by Lord Baden Powell. It’s purpose of equipping young men with self preservation skills in the event that the normal requirements for the security of life be taken from them.

Whether we like it or not, life has a way of sometimes taking us off guard, and, can severely test our ability to know what we should do. Let’s face it, nobody can be so skilled in survival techniques, either physical or emotional, that they could claim to be more than equal to every disaster which may befall them.

This is where God comes in! By all means let’s seek to be as prepared as is humanly possible by sensibly assessing where our actions or decisions might be leading us. However, let’s not forget that even the Chief of Scouts could on be found to be out of his depth and it is at these times that we can confidently on the name of the Lord and count on Him to help us.

Such a dependence on the Lord will never allow us to go blindly on like the simpleton and any untoward consequences No matter how many survival badges we may have on our scout uniform we can be sure of His help in our time of need.

QUOTES TO NOTE – Thomas Carlyle

He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything.

Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacles, discouragements, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.
None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens to this whisper which is heard by him alone.

Silence is as deep as eternity, speech a shallow as time.

DAILY MEDITATION

THE SPIRIT’S EMPOWERING – Judges 3: 8-11; 1 Samuel 11

Because of the great straits and difficulties they were in they began to call out to the Lord for His help and intervention. When the conditions changed and brought about an insufferable experience they realized that they had brought this trouble upon themselves and now there was only one way out of the crisis and problem – the Lord. Thankfully He was around and that he was kind and merciful and could do something about their plight.  He was ready to hear and reply in a powerful fashion.

His answer was in providing a leader that He could empower with His presence and power and tackle the matter in hand. The evil domination of eight years needed to be broken and it required the inspiration and dynamic of the Lord through a man by the name of Othniel to effect it.  The operative phrase given is: “And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him” – v10. This also happened in the case of Saul and others, too. The Holy Spirit made the difference to break the yoke of oppression. The initial experience of this blessing was vital if they were to accomplish God’s will in victory for His people.

It is an assuring fact that the Lord has made the Holy Spirit available to us today so that we move and operate under His presence and influence. Although there are many challenging and demanding situations for us to face and confront, we are made sufficient to be able to wage war and win overwhelming victories. It does not matter how long the evil rule has prevailed, it can and must be broken through anointed men and women. Know and live under His dynamic and see what He will do through you, now.
