Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“For I will set my eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up”-  Jeremiah 24: 6

One of the ways an insecure person builds themselves up is by pulling other people down. By making somebody else look inferior, the person doing the ‘pulling down’ might feel superior, at least temporarily. While this is a very unhealthy way to go about life, many people think that God is waiting to do the same thing to us. He is just watching for an opportunity to criticize us and point out all shortcomings.

The truth is that the exact opposite is true. God is not waiting to find fault in us, He is looking for every opportunity to pull us up! In today’s promise, we read of God’s heart for His people and His desire for only good things for them. He promises to only do good things for us, to build us up and to plant us in solid ground.

Our God and Father is the most secure, loving, kind and compassionate father in the universe! He is always looking for new opportunities to encourage us so that we might fulfill our destiny as His beloved children. My prayer today is that we would simply believe that this is true. God is FOR us in every way

“No one regardless how shrewd or well advised he is can stand against the Lord. God ahead and prepare for the conflict, but victory comes from the Lord”.

Read: Proverbs 21: 30-31

Nobody could ever doubt the military prowess of King David of Israel. He was a master of arms and a master of the art of warfare. Yet on more than one occasion he credits his military successes to the Hand of God and the

Power of God. lt was David himself who said, “Through our God we shall do valiantly, it is He who will throw down our enemies”. (See Psalm 60:12) The bottom line for David was this undeniable fact, that no matter how clever his military strategies; no matter how skilful was his ability with the weapons of war; no matter how shrewd or well advised was the counsel he received from his generals; he was the first to acknowledge that it was the Lord who gave him the ultimate victory.

Oh yes, by all means do everything you can to prepare for the conflict ahead, be it spiritual, emotional or physical, but when you have taken board every conceivable strategy for success, be careful to remember that ultimate can only come from the Lord. Paul put it right when he said, “But thanks be to God which gives us the victory our Lord Jesus Christ”. After all, no one, however shrewd or well advised, can against The Lord! (See 1 Cor 15:57)

QUOTES TO NOTE – Nelson Mandella

We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear

It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.

A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.

GOD’S ANSWER – Judges 2: 16-23

Good and godly men are always the answer to wicked generations. When rejection and corruption become a prevalent and an abounding factor the Lord works in His purpose and grace to counteract in the raising up of men to radically change and transform things. He does not sit idly by allowing the development and take over of evil, but has His answer in the provision of people that will espouse the cause of righteousness and truth. It mentions the fact “And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with that judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge” – v18.

This book is about God graciously intervening and working on behalf of His people when they were in great straits. He could have readily washed His hands off them because of their constant waywardness but He was most merciful to their plight and predicament. He would not allow them to be victimized by evil powers as long as they lived in submission to His will. This period was a whole learning curve and His people were slow to learn the lessons He sought to teach them. They could have saved themselves from a lot of heartache and distress if only they had believed and obeyed Him. But they were slow to to apprehend Him and His loving purpose.

The responsibility at this hour for the whole of Christendom is look to God to provide the essential spiritual leadership so that His people will be guided aright. He can still raise up people who will take the interests of His Church to heart so that it will be a spiritual force to be reckoned with. If He did not give up on those generations that miserably failed, neither should we on ours. It is time to quit ourselves like godly servants and see our nation and age switched back to God, whatever it takes.
