WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake” – Psalm 23;3

God created us to be restored and refreshed on a regular basis. The daily cycle of life demonstrates this as we are intended to rest (sleep) for a good 8 hours every day. Science is showing us more and more how important it is for our physical and emotional wellbeing to be able to rest.

In today’s promise, King David declares that it is God who is the restorer of His soul. The New Living Translation says… He renews my strength. (NLT) The Amplified Bible says…  He refreshes and restores my life (my self) (AMP) The Message Bible says… you let me catch my breath.  (MSG)

I am not an expert in such things, but I understand from articles that I have read that up to 70-80% of physical illnesses are stress related. What that tells me is that the human body was not created to sustain a chronic amount of stress day in and day out. We all need to be refreshed. We all need our soul restored.

WISDOM THAT WORKS

THAT STUBBORN STREAK – Rev. Bob Stevenson

”No one believes a liar, but everyone respects the words of an honest man.An evil man is stubborn, but a godly man will reconsider”.

Read:  Proverbs 21:28-29

Some people find it really difficult to change their view on an issue they have already taken a particular stance on. The mere thought reconsidering their position smacks of we mindedness or indecision, when in actual fact could well be sheer stubbornness.

It is one thing to have an opinion on a matter even a conviction about something, but it is  another thing to be so closed-minded on an issue that your view can never be altered or adjusted.

There is something about godliness that enables you to be less dogmatic in your approach, because after all, only God knows the final word on every matter, so you must always be prepared to entertain the fact that you could be wrong your judgements. The absence of God, however in a person’s life, gives them no concept of higher wisdom or intelligence and therefore they are well able to dig their heels in on an issue.

Then there is also the pride factor that prevents some individuals from ever changing their minds, even when the facts of a matter might clearly point to their error.

May The Lord help us all to enjoy that happy freedom of heart and mind that makes allowance for our possible ignorance on an issue, thus enabling us on occasions, to reconsider positi

DAILY MEDITATIONS

ANOTHER GENERATION – Judges 2: 10-15; 1 Kings 12

Changes do take place in life, and history has a strange way of repeating itself. What is presented here is of a nation turning its back against God. The previous generation had held firm to its trust and obedience to God but now a new one arose that was to reject the God of their fathers and do their own thing. The people wanted their independence and to cast all noble and holy beliefs and restraints aside. It felt that it knew better than their forbears and so decided to do their own thing and go their own way. They were not content to learn from the past.

The consequence of this creed and conduct landed the nation in real difficulty. There was a heavy price for this gross act of disobedience and arrogance and so they were left to the mercy of themselves, their enemies and circumstances. Everyone and everything began to work contrary to their good and happiness. They even found the Lord working against them – v15 “the hand of the Lord was against them for evil.” It happened in the reign of Rehoboam, too. Instead of taking wise counsel and advice he did his own thing and caused the nation to be greatly divided and created the position of unholy conduct.

This present generation falls into a similar wicked bracket and the Christian believer must not become party to it but seek to be delivered from its spirit and attitude. There are factors that exist that would endeavour to cast off all spiritual and moral self-discipline and act in a rebellious manner. It is not wise or profitable to heed such but make sure that life, faith and service are pleasing to the Lord. Acting in independence and defiance of the Lord only leads to untold havoc.  Seek to comply with Him and all will turn to a resounding success story.
