Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“even when we were dead through our trespasses,  made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus” – Erphesians 2: 5,6

Once we were dead, now we are alive in Christ. Once we lived by the laws of the flesh, now we are are led by the Spirit of God. What a contrast! Death to life. Darkness to light. Earthly to heavenly. Because of the grace (unmerited favor) of God, He has raised us to resurrection life in His Son, so that we would be seated together with Jesus in heaven!

When we read today’s Scripture passage, many of us think that this is our destiny when we die and go to heaven, but Paul the Apostle is talking about a present reality, not just a ‘when we all get to heaven’ kind of reality.

Ephesians 2:6 in the Amplified Bible describes what Paul says this way… And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One). (AMP)

The spiritual reality of salvation has catapulted us into heaven right now! This is our spiritual position in Christ as we live out the balance of our Christian life here on earth. I love how the Amplified Bible tells us that God the Father has given us joint seating with Christ in the heavenly realms. We actually share the same seat as our Elder Brother because we are IN Him!

I WISH – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“A lazy man longs for things but his hands refuse to work. He is greedy to get while the godly love to give”.

Read: Proverbs 21 25-26

We have all said it at some time or another, when we have longed to have something that has been beyond our means to acquire. “Oh I wish I could just go and buy  And fill in the dotted lines withthe item or object that is the subject of our longing.

Years ago my mother used to run a small home purchasing business. Friends and neighbours could look through a glossy catalogue of household and personal items and select the ones they desired. The catalogue was often referred to as the “Wishing Book”.

Most of these people were just honest working folks who appreciated the opportunity to pay by instalments. Every now and then there would be a client who was a “Bad payer”, who had neither the means nor the intention of paying for their goods. They usually turned out to be folk whose wish list was always longer than their willingness or ability to pay for that list.

Now there something good and wholesome about wishing for what might at present be out of your reach, but not at the expense of refusing to make the payments on those wishes.

The best wish list is found in the third epistle of John verse 2 where it says, “l wish above all things that you will prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers” – Now that’s worth wishing for!

It takes a great man to give sound advice tactfully, but a greater to accept it graciously. Logan Pearsall Smith

If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Maya Angelou

Every cloud has its silver lining but it is sometimes a little difficult to get it to the mint. Don Marquis

People who know little are usually great talkers, while men who know much say little. Jean-Jacques Rousseau

– Judges 2: 1-6; Joel 2: 12-21

There came a great challenge to this people owing to their wrong procedure of life. Instead of impacting their enemies with God and for good, they allowed themselves to be caught up in their idolatrous ways and doings and God was not pleased, and rightly so. A divine messenger was sent to chasten them because of their sinful conduct and with the express question: “Why have you done this?” There was no excuse for this sort of thing in the evidence of God’s goodness.

Thankfully, the reaction to this was a spiritual brokenness before God. They noted their transgression especially when the Lord made it clear that there would be an awful consequence as a result. They indicated to the Lord their sincere and deep regret and tears began to flow at the thought they had offended Him who had been so kind and good. They called the place Boachin = Weepers. Later on in their history, Joel calls for a state of spiritual brokenness in the light of Israel’s waywardness and wickedness – Joel 2: 12, 13, 17.

It may well be that there is a need to review the spiritual situation today. Are you living in faith and obedience or unbelief and disobedience? Do not merely presume or assume your relationship with God but make certain it is good and right. If you need to repent and be broken, then allow God to do a deep work of grace within your life so that you love and serve Him well. Brokenness precedes the state of divine blessedness. As there are genuine tears before the Lord, He will respond and begin to demonstrate His grace and power to secure so much that will change the situation.
