Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers” –Romans 8:29

In today’s promise from Romans 8:29, we read in the Amplified Bible the following… For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren. (AMP)

What an amazing promise! God knew us and loved us and destined us to be part of His amazing family before the creation of the world! It was because of His incredible love, that He determined to mold us into the image of His beloved Son so that we could be part of His wonderful family.

Jesus is the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. He is the ultimate big brother to each one of us and His Father has become our Father (John 20:17) because of the finished work of the cross. Hallelujah for such a salvation! We are being conformed day by day into the likeness of our Elder Brother and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The more that we understand that the Christian life is all about family, the more we will experience the family love that is ours with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We are not orphans, but joint heirs with Jesus! (Romans 8:17)

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“A man who tries to be good, loving and kind finds life, righteousness and honour The wise man conquers the strong man and levels his defences”.

Read: Proverbs 21:21-22

As I read today’s proverb those New Testament verses in Galatians chapter 5 came into my mind. It was the three virtues of goodness that triggered my memory to recall the nine fruits of the spirit recorded there, of which these three are included. l took the time to go to these verses and found that there is a similar sentiment expressed in them as there is here in Proverbs. Here in Proverbs we are told that the man who tries to give expression to these virtues will reap a certain reward. And so it is in Galatians, where it states, “lf we are now living by the Holy Spirit’s power, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives, then we won’t need to look for honours and popularity”. (Gal 5:25-26)

In both instances we are told that fruit can be expected to follow the pursuit of these virtues, whether you are led by the Holy Spirit or just have a sincere desire to implement such wholesome values in your life. After all, whatever might be our motivation or impetus for such actions, God is most certainly going to come to our aid to help us make it happen.

As Paul so aptly points out, there is no law in the world that will censure you for manifesting this kind of fruit! (See Gal 5:22-23)

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.

Gratitude is the sign of noble souls.

The level of our success is limited only by our imagination and no act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.

Better be wise by the misfortunes of others than by your own.

A UNITED OPERATION – Judges 1: 1-20

There is this encouraging factor revealed in the opening chapter where two tribes decide to unite together in order to enter into conflict against their enemies in order to master them. There is the will on the part of Judah not to sit back but to get on with the job of defeating their foes and of taking possession of the territory. They could not wistfully hope that somehow the opposition would suddenly disintegrate and disappear. They had to rouse themselves and show some faith and courage and be conquerors. It was not a time for ease but battle.

The tribe of Judah invites Simeon to join forces so that together they would become more formidable and invincible – v3 “Come up with me into my lot that we might fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with you in your lot.” There was immediate agreement and action and success. Unity spelt strength and subsequent victory. The call for co-operation was quickly responded to an paved the way to success.

It is vital to see the importance of interdependence in the Church of Christ. If we are to really obtain victory over the forces of evil and drive them out of our fellowships and communities, we must become united in spirit and operation. No wonder Christ prayed for the unity of His Church! As it is ONE it becomes invincible! Let us personally seek and maintain unity in vision and action.
