Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, the Holy One, to receive the glory, the honour, and the power, for you created all things, and because of your desire they existed, and were created!”-  Revelation 4: 11
The backdrop to today’s promise is found in the throne room of God as described by the Apostle John in Revelation 4. What an amazing sight! Rainbow colors flashing, angels crying holy, and the four and twenty elders falling on their faces worshipping the Lord God Almighty. I can’t wait for the day when I experience this amazing sight face to face.

As the elders are worshipping God, they are declaring that everything that God created was made for His pleasure! Think about that for a minute. You and I are part of His amazing handiwork and the reason He created us was for His own pleasure!  The Message Paraphrase says today’s Scripture verse this way… Worthy, O Master! Yes, our God! Take the glory! the honor! the power! You created it all; It was created because you wanted it. (MSG)

The reason that you were created is because God wanted you! He created you to make Him happy! Not as a servant, but as His beloved child. My prayer today is that this reality would go deep into our hearts. We were all wanted. We were all planned. We were all created by a loving God who made us in His own image so that we could make Him smile! What a wonderful God we have!

LOVERS OF PLEASURE – Rev. Bob Stevenson

”A man who loves pleasure becomes poor; wine and luxury are not the way to riches! The wicked will finally lose; the righteous will finally win”.

Read: Proverbs 21; 1 7- 18

There is a certain hedonism that is so destructive we could wind up on a losing streak all our lives and then ultimately finish up being eternal losers as well. Hedonism is craving mere sensual pleasure just for the sake of it! It is living a life to be pleased only for pleasure’s sake.

Now there is nothing wrong with pleasure in itself. lt actually tells us in the Bible that “There are pleasures at God’s right hand and in his presence is the fullness of joy”. (Psalm 16:11)  How good is that? No! It’s when your desirefor pleasure at the expense of everything else. If all you seek in life is your own personal pleasure then you are of necessity avoiding, or at worst, deliberately refusing to accept the responsibilities of life, which are surely greater than my own personal gratification.

There are some aspects of life are not all that pleasant but they have to be addressed responsibly never the less. The Bible tells us that we are not to selfishly please ourselves but to consider the plight of others who happen to be within the circle of our influence. (See Rom 15:1)

Is it any wonder that the prophetic picture of the last days is described as being a world, by and large, who are, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. Such folk will indeed finally lose. (See 2 Tim 3:1)

Mother Teresa

Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.

Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.

I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.

If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one. Mother Teresa

THE FORWARD LOOK – Proverbs 4: 24-27; Hebrews 12: 1-4

It is always imperative to have a clear vision and know where you are actually going in life.  The counsel and advice here is – “Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight before you” – v25. This indicates and implies we should always have our spiritual eyes open and be utterly sensitive and aware of the definite direction being taken. It is not being tempted by what is around and being taken off the right and best course but being sure of what you are aiming at and going for. More than anything, it means seeing and noting what God in His wisdom has set before in forward vision and enterprise that takes a person ahead into worthwhile living.

The need after beholding the right route is to be determined to keep the mind, heart and will determinedly fixed in pursuit and procedure. It says of Christ in Luke 9: 61 that “He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem” – Luke 9: 51 thus giving a demonstration of the forward look, step and movement to achieve the greatest purpose and goal for His life and the world. Wisdom led Him to sacrifice Himself in the interest and good of others.

The end result is expressed: “let all your ways be established” – v25. Not only will your ways be firm and abiding, you will be established and be able to set a noble and worthy route for others to follow. In looking to Christ you will have a forward look and not allow your life to be side-tracked and suffer grievous loss. Because the foundation has been truly put in a structure of lasting worth can be erected on it. At the conclusion there will be great testimony to a life well lived to the maximum.
