WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

“Yahweh, your word is settled in heaven forever” – Psalm 119: 89

The NIV Bible translates today’s Bible verse this way… Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. (NIV) The English Standard Version translates it… Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. (ESV) Whatever translation you prefer, the message is the same. God’s Word is firmly fixed and settled in heaven forever.

God is not a man that He should lie. His Word is His bond and it is anchored in heaven itself. Whenever circumstances come in direct opposition to God’s Word, agree with God and believe His Word. Whenever your emotions shout out something about yourself other than what God says about you, agree with God and believe His Word.

He is the same yesterday, today and forever and His Word is a constant that we can rely in our daily life. May faith rise up in our hearts today so that we will simply take God at His Word and cry out “I believe!”.

WISDOM THAT WORKS

DEAFNESS – Rev. Bob Stevenson

”He who shuts his ears to the cries of the poor will be ignored in his own time of need”.

 Read: Proverbs 21:13

Another one of my mother’s quaint sayings was ‘There’s none so deaf as those that won’t hear’. I must also confess to having taken advantage on more than one occasion of my hearing impediment due to a perforated eardrum. Whilst not completely deaf my hearing is impaired on one side, a malady I have duly exploited when I have not wanted to hear what is being said to me.

However, let’s face it, whilst we in the western world do enjoy an overwhelming abundance, there are still millions of poor and even starving people who are crying out for our assistance even though we may not actually hear their voices. I have already referred earlier to my early days as a missionary new recruit being told by a very well meaning senior missionary not to give anything to the beggars on the streets and the fact that this was one piece of advice I soundly rejected.

Here I am many years later still doing the best I can to support those who are in a much worse position than myself. The fact is that I will never have enou gh money to give to everyone who comes along.

However, if we all do the little we are able to do, we can certainly make a big difference for someone, somewhere in the world, less fortunate than we are!

QUOTES TO NOTE by Martin Luther King – Jnr

Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

ON THE RIGHT TRACK – Proverbs 4: 10-18; Psalm 1.

There is the emphasis in this section on the need to be on the right track, taking the path and route that in the end turns outs to be most profitable. It is evident that real progress is made in life in every way and this comes about when there is a knowing and adherence to the best course and road. Wisdom really helps by putting up the correct signposts, giving the clearest and soundest directions as to the way to be taken, and if taken note of, in faith and obedience, will cause the journey of life to be successful. The Living Bible affirms: “I would have you learn this great fact: that a life of doing right is the wisest life there is. If you live that kind of life, you’ll not limp or stumble as you run” – vv 11, 12.

David said on one occasion: “I will run in the way of your commandments.” That is the best course of action to adopt and the safest and surest path to be always taken as Psalm 1 points out and underlines. Make sure you know the way of the Lord at all times because it is always the right track.

The assurance is given in v18 that this track is filled with God’s light. When you commence on it, it is like the crack of dawn, the breaking forth of a new divine day that only increases with light, understanding, reality and destiny. Wisdom seeks to reveal the way ahead and will keep you going forward into that which is worthwhile. Have a good journey today in company with divine wisdom and you will make it!
