Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry” –Psalm146:7

Our God is good. He has a heart of compassion for the marginalised, the oppressed and all who need His help. As we read in 1 Corinthians 13:6 describing the character and nature of love from the Amplified Bible .. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. (AMP)

It is frustrating to see evil prevail around us. I think God has placed something in the human heart that longs to see justice for the oppressed. Be encouraged in knowing that this desire comes from God because our Father does not rejoice in evil, but He always rejoices when justice wins out.
Today’s promise simply reminds us that our God is for the underdog and the hurting. We read in 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 how He has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the strong, the poor of this world over the rich, and the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.

No matter what injustice you are facing today personally or what injustice you see around you, be comforted in knowing that our Father understands and He rejoices when justice wins out.

THE SECRETS OUT – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“Don’t tell your secrets to a gossip unless you want them broadcast to the world”. Read: Proverbs 20:19 When l was conscripted into the Royal Air Force, along with everyone else, had to go through a basic six to eight week training programme to prepare us for life in the armed forces. One of the requirements during this training was that we had to agree to comply with all the regulations of the National Official Secrets Act and sign on the dotted line to confirm our compliance with that Act.

I was subsequently selected to train for secretarial duties where l learned to assess the various degrees of secrecy required for each document. There was ‘Classified’ at the bottom end, ranging through ‘Confidential’ then ‘Secret’ and at the top of the range, ‘Top Secret’. Even though my time as a National Serviceman was served during a period when there was no formal engagement of a war time footing, I was always very careful to observe the Secrecy Act and to this day some of that sensitive information will die with me. It was however, always with some surprise, that in spite of my meticulous care in the processing of this information, word would get around on the RAF ‘Grapevine’ the very information that l had assumed was supposed to be classified.

Be careful what you tell and who you tell it to, whether Classified, Confidential or even Top Secret! Because somehow or other the word seems to get out!

The greatest gift of life is friendship, and I have received it. Hubert H. Humphrey

Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light. Helen Keller

RENEWED HEALTH AND VITALITY – Proverbs 3: 7, 8; 3 John

One of the great concerns of life revolves around health. To truly know and enjoy life to the full one needs to have a good constitution and possess energy and health. Lots of prescriptions are afforded in order to secure this vital requisite. It is only when you lose your vibrant and wholesome state that you really sense how important it is and a speedy quest is made to seek its renewal. Great amounts of expenditure in terms of time, monies etc., is given over to this major pursuit.

The wise man here gives a sound prescription on the obtaining and maintaining a healthy state. He gives a simple contrast: don’t be wise in your own eyes but know the Lord and pay respect to His rules of living for they embrace all your good and this includes your health. In turning from evil you turn from that which has damaging effect upon the body as well as the soul. Many have aged quickly, lost their strength and robustness because of indulgence into sin. It oft results in incurable sickness and an early grave. In faith and obedience to God comes the assurance – “When you do that, then you will be given renewed health and vitality” (Living Bible).

The apostle made a divine wish to those whom he wrote to. He penned these words: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health , even as your soul prospers” 3 John v2. What a lovely thing to desire for one another! As you live in accord with God and His will there is no reason why you cannot enjoy a good bill of health. Live out your life today with a wholesome respect for the Lord and His Word and both will minister that needed energy that will make you wholesome. May it be truly yours today.
