Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned,
and flame will not scorch you” – Isaiah 43: 2

We live only a few miles away from the mighty Niagara River. The world renowned Niagara Falls is part of the incredible torrent of water that flows between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario here in Canada. Whenever I get the opportunity to come close to its river bank, I see first hand the incredible power of its rapids. What can possibly withstand such a raging force?

In today’s promise, our God tells us that no matter how deep the water we wade in, or how raging the river that comes against us in life, we will not be overwhelmed…for He is with us. His love for us is stronger than anything that would try and come against us and overtake us. The first part of Zephaniah 3:17 says… For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. (NLT)

CHARACTER – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“The character of even a child can be known by the way he acts — whether what he does is pure and right”. Read: Proverbs 20:1 1 Character is what you are when nobody is looking. Character is the framework around which your temperament or personality is woven. lt’s like that inbuilt homing device in the pigeon, it will always enable you to stay on the right course, irrespective of the environment you find yourself in, and get you safely home

Your temperament is that combination of the sanguine, choleric, phlegmatic or melancholy emotional makeup. It’s this combination that gives you that special uniqueness which makes you into you. Character is that moral fibre that controls the way that personality is outworked. There is no doubt that personality has influence. Such influence can have incredible powers of persuasion, but it will be your character that will make such influential persuasive powers operate with integrity, honesty and uprightness. Somebody has well said, “Don’t let your charisma take you where your character can’t keep you”

Our personality and temperament comes more or less in the package that arrives in this world on the day of our birth. Character on the other hand, has to be developed, tried and tested throughout the journey of our lifetime.

In the end our actions will demonstrate whether charisma or character has the upper hand!

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies. Mother Teresa

When you focus on being a blessing, God makes sure that you are always blessed in abundance. Joel Osteen

Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you. Saint Augustine

We are told that God gives good sense to the godly and such leads on to other great gains. In vv9-12 there is the revelation of a number of advantages extended through the knowledge that God gives. One can distinguish right from wrong, be enabled to make the correct decision every time, produce a character of uprightness and of sterling worth, be filled with a profound assurance of peace and real joy and kept from getting linked up with the wrong people. What a production!

This is illustrated in the life and testimony of Daniel who from a youth sought to be guided by God and was schooled by Him. A review of His brief biography reveals that he always made the most sensible choices and ended up on the right side of things. He was rich in His understanding of God and His ways and of life. He was a favoured by the Lord to a source of revelation to many that needed to come to the Lord and His infinite wisdom.

It is possible for you to enjoy the full benefits of wisdom. You cannot afford to miss out on this way of living, of knowing and acting in accord with God’s answers in every situation. The wonderful thing is that having been answered by God with His wisdom and taught by Him, you can then teach others. You become a divine signpost for others. Instead of living and walking in darkness, confusion and crisis, you have a life of light and understanding for yourself and other people.
