Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you” – Hebrews 13:5

In today’s Bible verse, the writer of Hebrews encourages us to be content with our lives because our God and Father has promised to never leave us or forsake us. In the knowledge of our Papa’s closeness, we can take a deep breath and simply rest in His nearness. We don’t have to be anxious about anything. We don’t have to covet anything, because we have all that we need in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

If we are not convinced that everything we need can be found in the intimacy and fellowship found in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we will seek other things in order to be satisfied. However, if we truly believe in our heart that God will never leave us or forsake us, we will know that we have indeed found the pearl of great price.

No matter where you go, God goes with you. If you have received the free gift of Jesus’ life, then you are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, whether you feel His presence or not. God will NOT abandon you! He is closer to you than you possibly could imagine.

HERITAGE LISTINGS – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“It is a wonderful heritage to have an honest father”. Read: Proverbs 20:7 It all depends on which side of the heritage divide you happen to live as to your opinions on its value or otherwise. On the one side, if you value the memory of the past with its history and culture, then you will want to preserve as much memorabilia of that past as you possibly can.

On the other hand if you happen to have your property heritage listed, you can find yourself stuck with caveats that limit your freedom of use and possibly make your possession unsaleable. Here we are told that it is a wonderful heritage to have had an honest father and I would suppose that those of us who have such a heritage, would want to preserve it in any way we could.. If you do fall into this category then my advice is to do all you can to promote such a valued parent and be sure to let your children share your treasure.

Your present state in life is probably due in part to the blessing of such a life of honesty and it will do you no harm whatsoever to foster every memory you can and pass it on to posterity.
Honesty is the best policy and you can be sure it’s influence will bring no caveats of imitations so be sure to include it on your heritage list!

The only source of knowledge is experience – Albert Einstein

Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards – Soren Kierkegaard

Is there anyone so wise as to learn by the experience of others? – Voltaire

Experience without theory is blind, but theory without experience is mere intellectual play – Immanuel Kant

WISDOM CRIES OUT – Proverbs 1: 20- 33

We are informed here in vv20, 21 that “Wisdom shouts in the streets for a hearing. She calls out to the crowds ….and to everyone in the land.” She is personified in a feminine and maternal role gently yet truly summoning all to hear what she has to say. It is evident she desires to be helpful to each and everyone and those who are intelligent and wise take time to stop and hear what she has to say.

At times, she is in a reproofing mind and mood because such is needed. To those who are seemingly thoughtless and the scoffers who fight in opposition to the truth and facts, she speaks firmly and with conviction. It is time for these people to really take notice because if not they will land up in a heap of trouble and then it will be too late. The reason why she cries is in order stop ultimate disasters of a moral, spiritual and natural order. How thoughtful she is: v23 “Come here and listen to Me! I’ll pour out the spirit of wisdom upon you and make you wise.”

You need to take time out now to listen to her voice because she has your interest at heart. She seeks to save you from foolish thought and stupid actions that lead to your complete undoing. The end result of listening and responding is finalised in v33 –“But all who listen to Me shall live in peace and safety, unafraid.” Surely a worthwhile end!
