On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed ore fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God.I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness” – Isaiah 41: 10

Jesus told us in Luke 12:32 to fear not, for it is our Father’s good pleasure to give us His kingdom. God doesn’t want us to live in fear. He wants us rather to live in the safety and security of knowing that He loves us and He is for us (Romans 8:31). The reason why we don’t have to be afraid is because He is with us wherever we go.

Since our Dad is the biggest, strongest, most loving Dad in the universe, we can rest in His 24/7 care of every area of our life. In today’s Bible verse, God promises to be with us wherever we go. He promises to strengthen us, help us and hold us up with His mighty right hand.

MENTORING – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“If you won’t plough in the cold you won’t eat at the harvest. Though good lies deep within a counsellors heart, the wise will draw it out. Most people will tell you what friends they are, but are they telling the truth?” Read:: Proverbs 20.-4—6 Rightly or wrongly I have developed my own system of mentoring, which puts the responsibility more on the one seeking to be mentored, to take the initiative to learn whatever they can from me.

I am a great believer in the principle that some things are better ‘caught than taught’. In my book, it is never the responsibility of the mentor to run after the mentoree in order to impart the knowledge they have gained from experience.

It is always the other way around. Those people who have something worth sharing about life are often not all that forth-coming with their information. You have to draw it out of them by question and enquiry. You have to make the time just to be alongside them without being intrusive or demanding.

Most good mentors are more than prepared to give attention if they sense an eagerness in you to learn, either by observation, or ‘pick your brains’ in normal conversation.

The mentoring is not imposing your thoughts and perspectives on others but letting them draw it out of you. That’s wisdom!

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character – Martin Luther King, Jr.

I speak not for myself but for those without voice… those who have fought for their rights… their right to live in peace, their right to be treated with dignity, their right to equality of opportunity, their right to be educated – Malala Yousafzai

There should be no discrimination against languages people speak, skin color, or religion – Malala Yousafzai

Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal – Abraham Lincoln

REFUSING SIN – Proverbs 1: 10-19; Matthew 4: 1-11.

The thing that everyone has a major battle with continually is that of sin. It bedevils every individual and seeks to way-lay at every turn in life, so a watchful guard needs to be adopted with regard to it. One of the difficulties in relation to it is when other people come along, some professed friends, to entice and induce into doing things that are definitely wrong. We are told here: “My son, if sinners entice you, consent thou not.” Right from the onset, refuse to get involved and thus safeguard yourself from becoming incriminated. In the context there is the invitation to join an evil gang with the purpose of getting rich quick at the expense of others. It is better not to start on this course of action because of where it leads to – v15.

The temptation really springs from Satan, the evil one, that does not really seek your enrichment but your downfall and you need to be aware of this. His success rate is quite enormous in this. But he failed with the One who sets us an example in this matter. He came to entice Christ hoping to bring Him crashing to the ground but the Lordly defeated Him. Everything was offered as a quick fix for possession and promotion but He refused to be involved and stated where His love and loyalty lie.

May be you are be faced with many subversive allurements that would take you away from the path of righteousness. They are an inevitable challenge and procedure of life and you must learn to say NO to the evil one and evil even if such comes from so called friends. Choose to do what is right and good and you will come out the winner and in the best position.
