Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you,
he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you” – Romans 8:11

It is amazing to me to think that the very same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you and me. Our bodies are not a dwelling place for a small measure of the Spirit’s presence, but we host Him in His entirety!

The same Spirit of the living God that had so much power that He raised Jesus from the dead is the same Spirit that has chosen to reside in your heart. And it is the same Spirit that will give life to your mortal body just as He gave life to Jesus!

The Bible says that we are His temple (1 Corinthians 3:16). The Bible also says that our God and Father sealed us with His promised Holy Spirit as a deposit to guarantee our coming inheritance. (2 Corinthians 5:5) If we try to understand this simple but profound truth in our intellect, we will most likely short circuit because it is too wonderful to comprehend by human standards. That is why we need the Holy Spirit Himself to make this revelation a reality to each one of us. Why not ask Papa God for a deeper revelation of His Holy Spirit today?

DUTCH COURAGE – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“Wine gives false courage; hard liquor leads to brawls; what fools men are to let it master them, making them reel drunkenly down the street! – Read: Proverbs 20:1

The other day somebody asked me if I ever remembered anything my father used to say to me in the same way I seem to remember so many of my mother’s quaint sayings. Having known me for some years they had observed the fact that I often would attribute some comment made in the course of conversation as being something my mother would have said, but never anything my father had said.
As I tried to reflect on the times when my Dad might have talked to me I had to confess that my mind drew an absolute blank.

However what I did remember were the times when my father would come home from the tavern a little the worse for wear from his drinking. On these rare occasions I remember how talkative he was as he would tell me tale after tale of his escapades, none of which I have ever remembered.
Fortunately for me the effects of alcohol on my father only made him talkative but unfortunately for many, the effects can range from destruction to anger of the worst kind. Whatever the outworking of inebriation might be, it is the height of folly to let it master you.

Make a decision today that you are not going to go down that path! After all, any courage gained from excessive alcohol consumption is only going to be short lived!

The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time – Mark Twain

Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily – Napoleon Bonaparte

Some people are so afraid to die that they never begin to live – Henry Van Dyke

WE NEED TO LEARN THE BEST –Proverbs 1: 1-7; Matthew 7: 24-29

One of the basic facts of life is that we do need to learn what is true and right so that we might believe and do what is really acceptable and profitable. We need to be delivered from ignorance so that we may perceive what is best and good. How essential it is to be schooled by wisdom so we can perceive the words of understanding! –v2. The purpose of wisdom is to teach and instruct in justice, judgment and equity so that we shall be delivered from mistakes and folly. It provides hindsight on the past, insight into the present and foresight for the future.

Wisdom uses proverbs, wise sayings to instruct and press home the truth. They have to be pondered upon in order to extract their true meaning and interpretation. Those who are wise and want to know and attain the best will listen to her voice – v5. There will not only be the hearing but also there will be the listening and hearkening to her words in direction.

It is quite remarkable that Jesus Christ climaxed His teaching on the Sermon on the Mount with an illustration of the wise and foolish man who were called to construct for life on a solid foundation. He makes the point in v24 in emphasis to respond to Himself and His instruction: “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them , I will liken him unto a wise man that built His house upon a rock.” It is absolutely essential to make sure than we hear, understand and apply His words to life because He is the One who is the best and who teaches the best.
