welcome to this christian website

Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us” – 2 Corinthians 1: 20

Every four years we have an extra day in the year where we can declare yet another one of God’s many promises. I especially appreciate today’s Scripture verse where the Apostle Paul writes that every promise is yes and Amen in Christ!

So if you have ever struggled to feel worthy enough to believe that God’s promises are for you, be encouraged my friend. The reality of the gospel is that it is not about you and it is not about me. It is not about our ability to be good enough and it is not about our ability to prove our value to God.

It has always been, and will always be, about Jesus Christ and Him crucified! 1 Corinthians 1:18 says… For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God. (WEB) The good news of the gospel is that Jesus exchanged His divine life for our broken lives so that all of the promises that are in Him are now applicable to us too.

My prayer is that faith will rise up in your heart whenever you read a Bible promise so that you can receive it as your very own because the First Born among many brothers (Romans 8:29) has secured for you

SYNERGY – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“He who loves wisdom loves his own best interests and will be a success. A false witness shall be punished, and a liar shall be caught” – Read: Proverbs l9:8—9

Isn’t it wonderful when something happens in life that produces a success story and where all the parties concerned come out as winners? It’s easy to succeed at somebody else’s expense but when everyone reaps the rewards, that really does bring great satisfaction.

We have coined the phrase ‘Win-Win’ to describe such a situation or as the title for today puts it’— ‘Synergy’

Synergy is when a group of people come together on a project with the pre-determined desire to achieve a win-win situation for everyone concerned. It’s like this with God’s wisdom. If you get plugged in to His power source, it can only work for our benefit and as far as God is concerned He only has our best interests at heart. In fact if you love wisdom as God declares it to be, you are actually serving your own best interests, so that if you succeed, so does the Almighty. Hallelujah!

I have met so many people who think that to get hooked up with God is going to deprive them of all that is good and enjoyable in life. Nothing could be father from the truth. Anything we may ever lose through knowing God would probably never do us any good anyway! So we are the winners every time – and so is God!

You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger – Buddha

There’s a natural law of karma that vindictive people, who go out of their way to hurt others, will end up broke and alone – Sylvester Stallone

In times of great stress or adversity, it’s always best to keep busy, to plow your anger and your energy into something positive – Lee Iacocca

Every day we have plenty of opportunities to get angry, stressed or offended. But what you’re doing when you indulge these negative emotions is giving something outside yourself power over your happiness. You can choose to not let little things upset you – Joel Osteen

As Joshua moved on his relationship with the Lord and his leadership, he became more and more believing and diligent. There was no slackening off in any way as he served the Lord and the people in his commanding role. He had learned from his failures and made sure that there was a strict adherence to what the Lord had to say and command. He was fully aware of all that the Lord had spoken to Moses and he had it in his heart and on his agenda to make sure he carried out the divine orders in detail. In v15 we observe the sequence – “As the Lord commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses.”

From this we can rightly assume and assert that Joshua had become a diligent student and servant of Moses and the Lord. Strict attention and obedience had been born and developed in him so that he would secure all the Lord intended for His people. He set up a fine example for the people to follow in the conquest. This godly man was committed always to doing what was acceptable to the Lord.

It is essential that we be completely aware of what God has designed for us and that we make certain that all is fulfilled. When Christ came to His final words on the Cross He could state – “It is finished” and earlier He could affirm, “I have finished the work that you gave Me to do” – John 19: 30; 17: 4. Let us make sure that we achieve the Lord’s requirements above everything else for our lives and especially in our conquest over our mutual enemy.
