Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty”- 2 Corinthians 3:17

God is completely free and He loves freedom. Galatians 5:1 says that it is for freedom’s sake that Christ has set us free. In John 8:36, Jesus Himself speaks of the freedom He has for us when He said… If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. (WEB)

Wherever God lives, you will find freedom. If you are struggling with bondage today or are in controlling circumstances that hinder freedom, ask God to set you free! God’s plan and purpose for us is to be free to live, free to serve, free to be generous, free to dream, free to be His beloved child…free, free, free!

My prayer today is that we would all experience a new level of freedom in our lives. Ask God for more freedom and believe in your heart that it is His desire to set you free… and watch what happens in your life!

UNCERTAIN RICHES – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“The rich man thinks his wealth is an impregnable defence, a high wall of safety. What a dreamer! Pride ends in destruction, humility ends in honour”. Read: Proverbs 18:11-12

It has to be acknowledged that there is a lot of misinformation around regarding wealth and money and the possession of it. In my experience you cannot possibly read the Bible with an open mind and arrive at the conclusion that God wants us to be poverty stricken. l have seen enough poverty in my travels around the world to convince me that it certainly does not glorify God.

I am totally committed to the biblical principle that God wants to prosper me in every way possible so as to enable me to have the capacity to bless others.

I saw the founder of the software company Microsoft on the T.V the other night. He was on a tour of world centres seeking to give away $1Billion to help the disadvantaged. I am not aware of the religious beliefs of Mr. Bill Gates but whatever they may be, I was gratified to see that he wants to share his wealth with those less fortunate than himself.

Riches are neither moral nor immoral, it’s what your attitude is towards them that matters. If you see them as some kind of fortress that will be impossible to penetrate and therefore give you economic security for all time, you are living in a dream world.

Whether rich or poor, God still requires a certain humility in all of us that He delights to honour.

Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough – Oprah Winfrey

I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual – Henry David Thoreau

The thankful receiver bears a plentiful harvest – William Blake

If a fellow isn’t thankful for what he’s got, he isn’t likely to be thankful for what he’s going to get – Frank A. Clark

Before they could go further in pursuit of God’s goal of possession, an essential thing needed to be carried out amongst the men – the rite of circumcision. Gilgal was not only to be the place where the stones out of Jordan were erected as a memorial; it was to be the venue where they took themselves to task in confirming the fact that they were truly the Lord’s people. Over the past period they had been neglectful over this divine requirement that signified their union with Jehovah and it was right to get things in order at this point.

The Lord had witnessed this omission and brought it to the attention of Joshua – v2 “Make you sharp knives and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.” It may well have been that quite a number had failed to carry this out or that the Lord was emphasising the fact that they were distinctively His people and so demanded this recognition again. Before they could take another step to conquest and possession they needed to make this adjustment. The physical was but symbolic of a spiritual truth and reality.

It may well be that you stand on the brink of great things for God in your life and work and that He is challenging you to give some token of your desire to follow Him. There are moments when there comes a cutting process that is painful and hurtful like circumcision, but it is all part of God’s programme for much more. Do not back away or off from the divine demand because therein lies the secret of progress and success. Be sure that the Lord likes to see everyone and everything in its place as He initiates vaster moves and accomplishments.
