Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand” – John 10:29

I love the picture that Jesus paints in this passage of Scripture. In order to better appreciate what Jesus is saying, let’s read a broader view of this promise found in John 10:27-30…

Jesus tells us in this Bible passage that those who come to Him will never perish because we are being held safely in the palm of His hand where no one can snatch us away. He then goes on to double our feeling of safety and security by telling us that we are also held in His Father’s hand who is the greatest of all!

Every time I think about this Scripture passage, I envision myself being firmly held in the hand of Jesus and Jesus’ hand being firmly held by the Father’s. What a picture of unity in the Godhead and security for us.

No matter what comes your way, nothing can snatch you out of the loving, invincible hands of both Father and Son. May the thought of this security bring much peace to every troubled heart.

FOOLS WALK IN – Rev. Bob Stevenson

”A fool gets into constant fights. His mouth is his undoing! His words endanger him” Read: Proverbs 18:6-7

You do occasionally come across those individuals who seem to be always spoiling for a fight. They have the capacity to turn almost any comment that is made into a reason for conflict.

I used to believe that our society is becoming more violent than in previous ages but l have now come to the conclusion that isn’t the case. The schoolyard bullies of our childhood days are still around today shooting off their mouths and ready to take on all comers. The roaming street gangs who used to terrorize our neighbourhoods if you so much as looked at them the wrong way, have possibly become more sophisticated in their weaponry, but are still motivated by the same pugilistic psyche.

No! It seems as though these characters have been around from time immemorial, it’s just that there are more of them today mainly because there are more people in our world. The other reason being, that the human heart, if left unchecked or untamed, will always want to pick a fight.

The Bible does tell us that things will get worse as the coming of Jesus approaches, but we are to remain steadfast and immovable always abounding in the work of the Lord. After all, only fools walk in where angels fear to tread! (See 2 Tim 3:1 -5/ 1 Cor 15:58)

Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success – Henry Ford

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts –
Winston Churchill

The starting point of all achievement is desire – Napoleon Hill

Success is simple. Do what’s right, the right way, at the right time – Arnold H. Glasow

Once the right attitude has been revealed and the decision has been made, the Lord knows how to give the signs of what is to be. Two men went to spy out the situation with regard to the impregnable city of Jericho and they must have been somewhat surprised by what they heard. It was not by coincidence that they landed up in the home of the Rahab the harlot and were wonderfully preserved. She was able to give first-hand news and information as to the thoughts and feelings of the inhabitants – v9 “I know that the Lord has given you the land, and that your terror is fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.” A great conviction possessed her and she knew where her future lay.

They were able to pass on this message on their return and thus encourage all in the move forward – v24. It was what the leader and people needed to hear and know that would strengthen their faith. The Lord was not to leave them without some added guarantee at this crucial point in their adventure. He knew that they ought to have utmost conviction if they were to be conquerors. Whilst fear was in the opposition, divine faith had to prevail if they were to succeed. The Lord was already making the road open for possession.

As the Lord has called us to really be involved in mission and as we are committed to go with Him, expect Him to give those extra assurances that will increase our faith and make us more determined than ever to win through. Neither the enemy nor the challenge must be permitted to dictate factors. They will not be allowed to create fear and impotence because the Lord has already destined and declared their defeat. Through His intervention, we know, like the infant Christian Church, we are to wage a successful warfare and see the downfall of Satan’s kingdom.
