WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

“Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” – Proverbs 3:5,6

Proverbs 3:5-6 is one of those Scripture passages that have meant a great deal to me personally over the years. As a person who has had the tendency to trust in his own resources, the idea that I don’t have to lean on my own understanding to manage life is very good news indeed.

Today’s promise encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to rely on our own ability to manage life. The Hebrew word for trust in this passage is ‘batach’ which Strong’s concordance explains this way… to be confident or sure, be bold, confident, secure, sure, careless, to hope, to trust.

The more that we are convinced that God has our best interests at heart, the more we can put all our confidence in Him to steer our ship. The more we know that He really does love us and He is good, the more we will be able to give up control of our destiny and allow Him to lead us wherever we go.

WISDOM THAT WORKS
BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“It is wrong to accept a bribe and twist justice” – Read: Proverbs 17: 23

Alas we are forced to admit that the passage of time has not diminished the propensity of human kind to unlawfully gain favour by making some financial reward too good to resist. It has been well said that everyone has their price. Unfortunately it is a price for which they are willing to throw away their integrity in personal terms, as well as the reputation and wellbeing of their family. I would like to think that nothing takes me by surprise. But the older I get, the more sadden I am, by the stark reality of the power of a bribe that can reach the most senior levels of the professional world. When such bribery is uncovered it only brings disgrace to those involved and disillusionment to those who expect better behaviour of their peers.

From the family prospective this corrupt activity brings more than the loss of reputation and honour, but it also imposes a grief of heart and mind that is not soon shaken off.

How true the Bible is when it declares that, ‘The love of money is the root of all evil’- (1 ‘lIM 6:10) especially when that money is gained dishonestly by deceit and subterfuge.

Let’s make a commitment right now that we will take a hateful stand against any form of bribery be it monetary or otherwise.

CHOICE QUOTATIONS
POWER

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power – Abraham Lincoln

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment – Mahatma Gandhi

Knowledge will give you power, but character respect – Bruce Lee

He who wishes to be obeyed must know how to command – Niccolo Machiavelli

DAILY MEDITATIONS
THE BLESSING AND THE CURSE – Deuteronomy 30

The Lord was to make it perfectly clear to this people what the future held for them but so much was dependent upon their relationship with Him and how they responded to His leadership and direction. He would not impose His sovereignty or His word on them. They had to come to terms with the fact that the bond God was seeking to create amongst them was to be one of love and affection, where they loved Him supremely and desired to listen to His commands.

The future hinged upon obedience with respect to blessing. If they carried through with pleasure His will and purpose then they could expect nothing but the best in
every way. As they were right, all would go right and the wonderful things that would be their lot would astonish them. They would lack for nothing under His covering and care. If they chose to do their own thing and go their own way in disobedience there would be a contrasting scene. Everything would go wrong and they would find themselves living under curse and judgement.

The Lord never enforces anyone to submit to Himself or His will. As there is yieldedness to Him and compliance to His design for our lives we will discover the richness both of His presence and providence. Both are essential to a successful lifestyle. Fall in with the Lord today and see the fall out of blessing, which will be yours now and throughout the days that are ahead. Be assured of this, He wants to bless you more than you can appreciate and as you respond in love to Him and His directions, your future will be blessed. Nothing gives more pleasure to the Lord than to see you enjoying His rich blessing.
