Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart” – Jer 29:13

When my children were young, one of the games that I would play with them was called ‘hide and seek’. I would hide and then they would try to find me. The game is pretty simple and lots of fun. The whole point of this exercise was that they would eventually find me… and that was the best part!

I would never have thought to try and hide myself so thoroughly that my children could never find me. That would not have been fun at all, for the real joy was in them finding me. I don’t think our Heavenly Father is much different, though His ways are way higher than my ways for sure!

He absolutely delights when we seek Him with all our heart and He loves to be found by us! Today’s promise tells us that we will indeed find Him when we search for Him with all our heart. If you are feeling discouraged today, hungry for God but somehow feeling that you have not yet apprehended Him, don’t give up. Keep seeking. Keep knocking on the door. Keep on asking. He promises to be found by you!

PACIFIERS – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“The anger of the king is a messenger of death, and a wise man will appease it. Many favours are showered on those who please the king”. Read: Proverbs 6:14-15

It seems that from the day of our arrival on the earth there is the need for some form of pacification. How grateful we have been, as parents of four children, for the soothing effect a pacifier can have when popped into a baby’s mouth — even more so if it has been dipped in honey first!

How longsuffering our mothers were in trying to cope with our childish mood swings and the like. Patiently they would apply all the skills of psychology in an effort to ameliorate all our infant idiosyncrasies. Eventually however, we have to grow up and learn the important lesson that life does not revolve around our little world and there comes a time when the pacifier has to be dispensed with.

In the Bible days of despotic rule when the King’s word was law, he could be angry with impunity and you were wise to take the line of least resistance and do your best to

In today’s world of high pressure conflict situations and blatant agresion on our streets, we still need the same wisdom if we are going to survive. Appeasement for it’s own sake NO! But by all means pacify if the outcome brings peace for all.

Where we love is home – home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts – Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr..

Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do… but how much love we put in that action. – Mother Teresa

Nothing can bring a real sense of security into the home except true love. – Billy Graham

The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home. – Confucius

THE LORD’S BLESSING – Numbers 6: 22-27; Psalm 1

This really does make known God’s intention and will for His chosen people. He truly wanted them to be a very blessed people, knowing and enjoying the rich beauty of His grace and favour in a bountiful measure. In no way did He desire them to be worse off living under His providence and goodness but to experience a life style that was for their good. He was the source of all that was beautiful and bounteous. It was within His capacity to give immeasurably to this people and it was imperative that they be in a place to receive all that He desired to load them with. One of the real evidences that they were His people was to be noticed in this distinctive feature – His favour ever resting on them.

It may have only been a simple and short benediction but it said and meant everything. Three times the author is mentioned – ‘the Lord’ thus indicating the God of the Now was every present to effect it and He desired that His provision and protection would ever be their lot. There is the climaxing of it with ‘give you peace.’ This sums it all up – ‘Shalom.’ The word gathers within it all that is good, best and profitable for the whole of a person’s being and life, spirit, soul and body.

Our High Priest, Jesus Christ, places His blessing on His Church and upon all that are within it. He wants your life to glow with His indwelling Presence and be enriched with all of His goodness. His blessing is upon His chosen ones so why not receive and enjoy it to the full today, especially His peace. One of the outstanding features of your experience should be to taste and reveal His blessing. It is a testimony to the unbeliever that God is fully at work within your daily existence.
