Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you” – Isaiah 26:3

The New Living Translation Bible says Isaiah 26:3 this way… You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! (NLT) I used to think that if I could fix all my thoughts on God in my mind, then I would have perfect peace. But the more I think of the whole verse, the more that I am convinced that I have been emphasizing the wrong part of the verse.

The last part of this verse is the key… because he trusts in you. If we truly trust God with all of our life, then we won’t feel the need to spend all of our time thinking about how we should manage our lives ourselves. If we don’t have to think about managing life because we trust God to care for us, then we will have loads of free space in our mind to simply think on God. And that allows us to continually think on all of the good things that we are encouraged to think about in Philippians 4:8.

In my many travels, I have not really found a person yet that doesn’t struggle in some degree with an active thought life. My prayer for each and every one of us today is that God would show us that the key to having a mind full of peace is to first have a trusting heart. May the love of God convince us more today that He is worthy of our trust!

MUCK AND MONEY – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“A rebel’s foolish talk should prick his own pride! But the wise mans speech is respected. An empty stable stays clean —. But there is no income from an empty stable!

Read: Proverbs 14:3-4

“Where there’s muck there’s money”, so the old Lancashire saying goes in the industrial North West of the UK. As a Manchester man myself am well acquainted with the blue collar fraternity who very often worked in the most appalling and dirty conditions in order to provide for the basic commodities of life for their families.

My own father was a moulder in an iron foundry and I well remember him coming home in the evening as black faced as the back of our coal fired sooty chimney. Having been apprenticed to his trade as a thirteen year old, he had little option but to follow in his father’s footsteps. His skills as a moulder did provide him with comfortable income for all our family needs and I am always in admiration of his dedication to do all in his power to see that we were in no way economically disadvantaged in spite of the conditions in which he had to work..

Of course it would have been wonderful if his factory workshop could have maintained a clinically clean environment but like our proverb points out, if you want the blessing of milk, you have to be prepared to clean out the muck.

I shall always be eternally grateful for a Dad who put up with the muck so I could have the milk!

Abraham Lincoln

Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.

No man has a good enough memory to be a successful liar.

You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.

GOD’S ANSWER – Genesis 41: 1-32

It is most assuring to know that God knows when and how to answer His servants. His timing is absolutely perfect and His ability to work in the most unusual ways to effect His plan in and through His chosen instruments is quite astounding. In no way is He frustrated and in a powerless and seemingly helpless situation. He has many procedures and movements at His disposal so that no one need worry who place their sole confidence in Him.

Joseph would discover that his extreme circumstance was no problem to the Lord. When the grace of patience had done its ultimate work in him, then the Lord moved in to display His love and power on His behalf. He could use a heathen monarch to trigger things of and get him out of prison and initiate him into a vast program of salvation for the nation and for the elect household. Pharoah dreamed and had no interpreter to give the sense of it, and the previous fallen butler was providentially at hand to render a service to the king and Joseph.

This affords assurance to us. There are things that God intends to bring us into but it must be according to His schedule. We must learn both to wait and trust and as we do so we shall yet see what He will achieve on a much larger scale. Suddenly things can change through His workings. Do not be discouraged. Your time will come and you will be surprised at His doings.
