Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“Yahweh your God who goes before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes” – Deut 1:30

I love this photo of lightning that is the backdrop of today’s promise. Such a picture of power released from heaven in such a short time. May this image be a reminder of the incredible power of our God and Father. He is the biggest Dad and the strongest Dad in the universe!

In Exodus 14:14, the Lord makes this promise to Israel… “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (NIV) Today’s promise is yet another reminder that God has committed Himself to fight for you. In Romans 8:31 Paul reminds us that if God is for us, who can be against us?

We know from Ephesians 6 that our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the dark powers and rulers of this world. In Ephesians 6:10 we are called to be strong in the Lord and His mighty power and to take on the full armor of God. It is His armor, not ours.

If you are feeling overwhelmed today with the things that are opposing you, may this promise bring great comfort to your heart. My prayer is that each and every one of us would live in the safety and security that is described in Psalm 91, knowing that we live in the secret place of the Most High, and we dwell under the shadow of the Almighty.

The amazing truth of the gospel is that God is for you, not against you and He will go before you and fight your battles on your behalf.

INFLUENCE – Rev. Bob Stevenson

”Be with wise men and become wise. Be with evil men and become evil. Curses chase sinners whilst blessing s chase the righteous”.

Read: Proverbs 13:20-23 Somebody has reduced the description of a leader to one word – “Influence”. Leadership is influence. If this is the case then who are you influencing if you are a leader and who are you being influenced by if you are a follower?

It has also been well observed that you can assess the character of a person by the books that they read and the company they keep. Whether we like it or not we are going to be influenced one way or another so better settle it once and for all. Are we going to hang around with people who are going. to be a positive influence on our lives or is it going to be the other way around?

Many of the values I now espouse have been put there by my parents, who I hasten to add were by no means perfect. Nevertheless, like my wider circle of friends and family their value system did leave a positive influence in my life. Then later in life l realised that there was only one person responsible for the influences l allowed in my life and that person was me!

Whether leaders or followers we need to properly evaluate the power of influence and make sure that it works for our best interests and those of others as well.

William Penn

A true friend freely, advises justly, assists readily, adventures boldly, takes all patiently, defends courageously, and continues a friend unchangeably.

Time is what we want most, but what we use worst.

True silence is the rest of the mind, and is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment.

In marriage do thou be wise: prefer the person before money, virtue before beauty, the mind before the body; then thou hast a wife, a friend, a companion, a second self.

FACING TEMPTATION – Genesis 39: 7-20

Everything was going well. Joseph was making a success of his life and work and it looked as if he was really on the way upward. He had turned the corner and now the prospects could not be better. At the height of seeing things transformed for the better there came a tremendous challenge that was of a moral and sexual character.

He was suddenly accosted with his master’s wife wanting to have an illicit relationship. How easy it would have been to succumb! She was no ordinary person and it could have given him the idea and feeling of great importance. But there was no way of yielding because he had fixed principles and priorities in place. It would be a wrong and evil against his master, God, her and others. He would not sacrifice his own purity for any indulgence of this nature. He has served as an example for centuries on the power of a virtuous life.

Inevitable tests come on many fronts to all that would become effectual for God. They are part of the process and programme and when they arrive must not find us unprepared. We must be always on our guard and see that definite, godly rules of conduct are rooted in our daily living so that we do not fall foul of sin. The Lord that preserved Joseph can see you through every trying temptation.
