Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him” – Isaiah 30:18

The Amplified version of the first part of Isaiah 30:18 this way… And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. (AMP)

What a beautiful picture of the longing that God has for us. He is always in a posture of waiting for every opportunity to show us His compassion. I love the Amplified translation that says that He is expecting, looking and longing to be gracious to us.

This Bible verse reminds me of the father in the Prodigal Son story in Luke 15 who was waiting for his rebellious son to find his way home. In this story, Jesus tells us that the father saw the son when he was still a long way off and started running toward his boy.

I think in the same way, our God and Father is waiting and watching for every opportunity to run out so that He might pour out His love and mercy all over us. May we be mindful of this amazing truth and always posture our hearts to receive the outpouring of His love!

KINDNESS – Rev. Bob Stevenson

”Honour goes to kind and gracious women, mere money to cruel men. Your own soul is nourished when you are kind; it is destroyed when you are cruel”.

Read: Proverbs: 11; 16-17

Kindness is a wonderful word in itself. It springs from the root meaning of being ‘kin’ or ‘kindred’ or even ‘akin’. They all carry the implication of having the same heart or feelings about something or someone. It means being family and having a bond powerful enough for you to want to do unexpected and even undeserved acts of kindness.

If the word itself is wonderful then how much more the demonstration of the word. The Bible tells us to be ‘kind, one to another’ addressing both genders. There are without doubt the most beautiful feelings and emotions which come over you when you are at the receiving end of random, unsolicited acts of kindness.

Whilst it is within the capacity of both male and female to be kind, I think I would be right in observing that it’s the woman who does excel at being kind.

No wonder our proverb today says, “Honour goes to a kind and gracious lady”. Go out of your way to be kind because both giver and getter alike get nourished in their soul and who knows what repercussions can result from such nourishment?

A sympathetic friend can be quite as dear as a brother – Homer

The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others – Albert Schweitzer

No matter how prepared you think you are for the death of a loved one, it still comes as a shock, and it still hurts very deeply – Billy Graham

Sorrow is a fruit. God does not make it grow on limbs too weak to bear it – Victor Hugo

PARENTAL DUTY – Genesis 18:19; Deuteronomy 6: 1-9

The family is something that God is interested in and desires that it should be governed aright so that He might own it with His blessing. Father Abraham appears to set a healthy standard for his family and the nation that was to be birthed through him. What God said was highly commendable and lets us know that he knew how to manage and run his household successfully. It records: “For I know him, that he will command his children and they shall keep the way of the Lord . .”

It is one thing to have a family; it is another thing to act responsibly towards it in the way that the Lord has designed. Parents have both a spiritual and moral obligation even today to make sure that the home is under the direction of the Lord. Father, mother and children must come under His gracious presence, influence, providence and guidance. Every Israelite had to teach home management – Deuteronomy 6: 6-9, bringing up their families in the way God ordained. The New Testament teaches how we should be bringing up our offspring, and that is, ‘in the fear and admonition of the Lord.’ This certainly ensures the future well being of the family unit. Godlessness has invaded the home scene today, and as a result, society is paying a high price for it at all levels.

Both parents and prospective parents do well to keep in mind the fine example set forth by this godly father. It must be remembered that the Lord desires to bless the family household with so much good. This man was promised so much from the Lord at this level and the assurance is given: “that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which He hath spoken of him.” Know that the Lord has great things in store for your home as you govern it for Him.
