Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“For you are a holy people to Yahweh your God: Yahweh your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth” – Deut 7: ^
This declaration of love was spoken over the nation of Israel. God had set them apart for Himself and chosen them to be His own treasured possession. We know that as Christians, we have been grafted into the vine (Romans 11:16-18) and now share in the spiritual blessings from Abraham that God had originally declared over the nation of Israel.

We too are a special people that God has chosen for Himself, His treasured possession. Ephesians 1:3-6 tells us how God lovingly chose us before the creation of the world to be adopted as His beloved children in Christ. My question today is this… Do you feel the astronomical value that God has placed on your life?

If not, ask the Holy Spirit to show you how much you are treasured by your heavenly Father! I believe that if you ask Him today, He will be faithful to show you just how much you are loved and valued by God. In Romans 5:5 the Apostle Paul writes… and hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (WEB)

Rev. Bob Stevenson

”A good man gives wise advice, but the liars counsel is shunned. The upright speak what is helpful; the wicked speak rebellion”. Read: Proverbs 31:32 How true the words of Jesus are when He said: “Out of he abundance oi the heart the mouth speaks. In other words, what we say is a manifest expression of what we really are”.

Again in proverbs we are exhorted to “keep your heart with all diligence tar out of it are the issues of life”. If you have a good honest heart your advice to others will be good and honest. If you have a lying, deceptive mentality it will soon become evident to those you deal with.

If you are a person of integrity and uprightness your comments and observations on issues are going to be positive, constructive and helpful but it intrinsic wickedness resides in your heart, then only rebelliousness and discord is going to come out in your conversation.

It has been well said that we are what we think, not what we think we are! And as a man thinks in his heart then so he is. The tongue is indeed powerful but even more potent is the heart and mind that motivates and controls it – for either good or bad.

It is a wise man indeed who always checks the character of his counsellor before he receives any counsel!

AVOIDING STRIFE – Genesis 13; Philippians 2

A situation arose in Abram’s experience when he had a real problem and crisis on his hands. It was essential that it be dealt with in a good and positive manner. God had so blessed him and his nephew, Lot, that they had an enormous amount of stock in terms of flocks, herds, shepherds and tents. And then it happened. There came a strife and conflict between the herd men – v7. God gave Abram the wisdom on how to efficiently deal with it. Graciously he allowed Lot to make a choice on where he would to go and live and he seemed to choose the best -vv10, 11, but Abram did not complain. Being the man of faith that he was, he left matters in the capable hands of the Lord and was not to be disappointed.

God’s Word reveals that God was in this because the Lord wanted Abram on his own as His purposes were to be fulfilled in and through him. This is obvious from v14. Sometimes God allows things in our affairs of a disturbing nature because He wants to see us coping with brutal factors in a gracious manner. He desires to get us on our own in order to speak more powerfully and relevantly into our situation. As soon as Lot goes the Lord affirms His vow of the Land of Promise. Abram is called to arise and walk through it. Later on his seed were to walk through it and possess it but he paved the way – Joshua 1: 2-4.

At the church in Philippi two sisters had a fall out and Paul tells them to get their spiritual act together and be free from strife – Philippians 4:2. Do not allow anger, animosity and bitternness to rob and spoil you and thus hinder the greater blessing that the Lord would heap upon your life today and on your future.
