Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

“Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still” – Exodus 14: 14

In today’s promise, we have an amazing assurance that the God who spoke the entire universe into existence will fight for us if we will only remain still. The NIV Bible says this verse this way…The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (NIV)

I believe there is something in the heart of God that fights on our behalf when we do not try and fight for ourselves. Waiting on the Lord is not passive, but it is the most active thing we can do. When we wait on God to fight for us, we are putting ourselves in a very vulnerable position and by doing so, we are demonstrating in a very practical way that we know that our heavenly Dad is the source of our help.

Does this mean that we never wage warfare on a spiritual level? After all, the Bible says that we are to ‘resist the devil and he will flee’, ‘take on the full armor of God’, etc. I believe what Exodus 14:14 is talking about is fighting in our own strength. There is a huge difference from fighting our battles in our own best efforts and fighting battles in the power of the Lord’s might.

When we learn that the battle really is the Lord’s, we can rest in His ability to save us and draw from His strength and not our own. Whatever battle you are facing today, be comforted in knowing that you have a Father (God) and a Big Brother (Jesus) fighting on your behalf. You only need to be at peace and watch what happens.

“A wise man makes hay while the sun shines, but what a shame to see a lad who sleeps away his hour of opportunity”

Read: Proverbs: 10:5

I once heard somebody say that ‘the opportunity of a lifetime only happens during the lifetime of the opportunity’. The all time favourite pressure tactic in the selling world is missing the opportunity of a lifetime The fact is however that there are opportunities, which do only carry a certain lifespan, and once they are gone they can be gone forever

When faced with significant far reaching decisions that have the capacity to change the course of my life and that of my family I have learned that there are certain basic considerations I need to clearly identify. Taking an A4 sheet of paper I would write the answers to the following questions on each side of a line down the middle of the sheet

What are the very worst things that can happen to me in making this decision? If everything works out as I imagine what would be the best outcome I can expect‘? The best outcome for

The glory of God and the extension of HIS Kingdom – My wife and my family members ~ Me in gaining valuable experience for the future – The benefit to my own development and those closest to me
Lastly, is my final decision based on FEAR or FAITH’? I would then ask What does God say about all this?” and give some time for Him to speak to me When opportunity knocks whatever you do, don’t fall asleep!

If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles – Sun Tzu

Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, we are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved one – Thich Nhat Hanh

What is needed, rather than running away or controlling or suppressing or any other resistance, is understanding fear; that means, watch it, learn about it, come directly into contact with it. We are to learn about fear, not how to escape from it – Jiddu Krishnamurti

Thinking will not overcome fear but action will – W. Clement Stone

Read, study and take notes for further thought. Make your own commentary and hear the LORD speak to you.

AN ENEMY’S APPROACH – Genesis 3: 1-5; Matthew 4:1–11

Attention is drawn to the fact that there was someone else in the Garden of Eden with deceptive designs, with the intention of wreaking havoc with man’s relationship with God, thus affecting his future destiny. There was enemy present that sought to do untold harm. Equally today, we are to be aware of the existence and purpose of the evil one. It is not without significance that the word evil is in the word devil. He has neither changed in nature or procedure. As he overcame the first pair at the beginning so he endeavours to master all the sons of men.

The method he used was to question God’s Word and His authority in the situation. In a subtle fashion he said to Eve, “Yea, hath God said.” He was subversively undermining the truth of God and the woman seemed to fall for it. He knew God had said it, and so did she, because she was aware of the prohibition that had been made by God. Satan was leading her to doubt and question the authentic word of God, and she was listening and taking note of the one that was seeking to rob her of her innocence, integrity and destiny. Her reply should have been: “Yes! God has said it and that settles it!”

Centuries later, Satan tried to work the same one on Christ but He was too wise for him. The evil one knew the Scriptures and used them to his own evil designs but the Lord answered him on each occasion with the inspired Word of God. We need to have the sword of the Lord in our hearts, hands and mouths so that we can incisively destroy all the questionings that Satan would raise with regard to God and His Word in our lives – see Ephesians 6: 17.
