Rev. E. Anderson

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 128,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of a Prophetic Word for Today, A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Just a Thought by Aaron Linford. Choice Quotations and something to Focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

Take time today to look back at the difference the LORD has made to your past. Observe in particular the choice things that He has brought to pass throughout your walk with Him. Not only will a spirit of immense gratefulness and thanksgiving fill your being, your faith will be quickened in greater measure to believe for much more in the present and future, too. You will have your eyes opened and your whole being inspired to expect so much more in the days that lie ahead. To tell you the truth: you will not be disappointed. Your past in Him is the blessed foundation and forecast of what is to be wrought for you and the assurance there are incredible things in the pipeline waiting for you to possess.

There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail” – Prov 19:21

Over the years, I have looked to this Bible verse many times. By nature, I am a strategist and a planner. I like to know how to best prepare for whatever life has to throw at me. Unfortunately, many of the plans that I have put into place have never come to pass. That is why I take great comfort in this verse because it basically says that while we have many ideas of our own, it is the Lord’s purpose that will prevail in our lives.

This promise gives a planner like me great comfort in knowing that God’s purpose for my life will come to pass because of His faithfulness, not because of my planning! What a relief! The old saying ‘hindsight is 20/20 vision’ is so true. When I look back at my life, there are so many things that I ‘planned’ that didn’t come to pass and I thank God that they didn’t !

JUST A THOUGHT by Aaron Linford

“Of making many books there is no end,” wrote the Preacher (Eccles 12:12). Thank God for the preservation of knowledge accomplished by literary works.
But to build up one’s own library can bring problems. One is that people borrow, but fail to bring back. It almost amounts to theft, sometimes even to villainy.
How is it that normally honest folk, who keep their own accounts with integrity, sometimes are less than correct about books? Any lending librarian will convey to you a pitiful account of books taken out but not returned. Forgetfulness, carelessness, irresponsibility? Who knows!

I have a bookmark with the following inscription quaintly put:

“He that doth this book borrowe And doth not bring it back, Certes he shall have sorrowe, And comfort he shall lack.”

But it is more like a lament than a proposed corrective.

The sharing of literature can bring help to those who cannot afford expensive books, or whose searching cannot locate desired volumes. But a Christian conscience should register alarm if a book is held longer than contemplation requires. “Restore to me my long lost friend,” is often the futile prayer of the book lender. It should not be so. A book lover should also be a lover of the lender.

“Fear actually is related to love, as are all passions. Love is an attraction for an object; fear is flight from it” – Sheen

“Fear is the mother of safety” – Taylor

“More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of” – Alfred Tennyson

“Some people are so afraid to die that they never begin to live”! – Van Dyke

“If I had three hundred men who feared nothing but God, hated nothing but sin, and were determined to know nothing among men but Jesus Christ and Him crucified, I would set the world on fire” – John Wesley
